As expected the new proposals did not go through with Sligo withdrawing from joining with Rockland as that might cause too many problems. So it's 5 teams in senior for sure this year. Seems an imbalance giving that intermediate and junior a have around 10 each.

Don't think meeting was last night. It's usually on a Thursday night.

The meeting was Monday night. Longford and Westmeath were approved to go intermediate and Long Island Gaels allowed to drop into the Junior ranks.

Its certainly going to be a big intermediate division with Longford, Cavan , Westmeath and Brooklyn all joining up. Where are Armagh and Leitrim going?

Sligolifer there is 8 teams in Jr A..... Donegal B, St Rays, Manhattan Gaels A, Armagh, Dublin, Monaghan B, Leitrim and Rockland B.... Celtics, Barnabas B, Offaly, Manhattan B, LI Gaels, St. Pats in Jr B i guess.... Jr B is designated for Irish/American players predomently.... I expect alot if movement from Cavan as they have folded their senior team and probably players that didnt get a look in with the Donegal money team last year will move on to other clubs if they dont fall under the 2 year rule and have to stay...

At convention the delegates spueed there anger at Leitrim and Armagh by not allowing them 6 native players. This in away is justified given there past history but from a GAA point of view it puts two teams at risk of not being able to compete this season. They argued that other teams such as Manhattan Gaels were formed on robbing players from other clubs do we could see Leitrim and Atmagh gone again.
Drafts were cut again in intermediate and maybe it's time to rid them altogether. Mayo were suscessful with there motion of July 1st cut off date for intercounty players and this will surely impact a number of players who wish to come and play legally. Long Island are Junior B this year a move that will destroy the Junior B division. Next Thursday night is transfer night and parking will be hard to find by all reports.

I thought manhattan gaels were mostly American/irish American lads and then new irish lads in the city? I know they got a few armagh players last year but that was after armagh folded. Leitrim and armagh can't complain if they choose to fold one year, then enter in a lower division the next. These kind of moves are messing up the divisions like long island this year. You can't allow them have their senior players back in a lower division
