They haven't folded from talking to a few in their camp. Because of the make up of their team with a few boys still away at college and all, they asked the Senior Board to bow out of the Knock Out round of matches. They are on the schedule in the championship the last 2 weeks of June as per the website. They have been training away with their home based boys and will give a run at the big boys of Senior from what i have been told. Wish them all the luck in the world, they will need it.

Id say they were probably only thrown out of the Knock Out Cup, they couldn't be thrown out of the Championship already as it isn't a $500 fine until the quarters onward from what i have been told. Sure didn't Donegal A team not bother showing up for the A Knock Out Cup final, and nothing happened to them …..cant see Monaghan even getting a fine if Donegal A didn't.

I have to say congratulations to Barnabas Jumior B last night. They played with so much more passion then the first night. They were the better team on the night. I hope they go on and repeat for the championship Gerrard1888 (Laois) - Posts: 34 - 09/06/2016 17:05:13 1864364 Link 0 |

I heard a team are allowed 1 forefeit so long as they didn't have one for 12 Months prior to the game so Maybe they used this loop hole. I would like to know is this a NY Rule or a rule by Croke Park. ranger (None) - Posts: 166 - 10/06/2016 19:55:20 1864988 Link 0 |
So you can agree to play on Memorial weekend ( which all the clubs did and would then be off July 4th ), then not show up when you actually happen to be scheduled that day and then are let back into competition. What a farce, another weekend with no senior football. Time to forget about building new clubhouses and building for the future. Why don't these clubs just go and buy a nice shiny cup, would be a lot cheaper on them. GPlifer (USA) - Posts: 290 - 10/06/2016 20:50:19 1865011 Link 1 |
Indeed a farce. Monaghan laughing again after winning another appeal making the county board looking like you no what. Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 12/06/2016 12:31:46 1865437 Link 0 |
2 decent junior matches last night, Celtics won handy enough and took some nice scores. Manhattan snuck by Offaly for the points. Junior B is going to be tight enough this year i think. Still fancy Barnabas to win out the championship. Any news on the Junior A no show league cup??? Seems to have been swept under the carpet as its very very very quiet regarding it. In the Junior A Final St Raymonds fielded a team and Donegal did not show so it was automatic loss of game and the cup was awarded and competition ended, in the Senior game the competition was not over because the game was not the final. So stop with the conspiracy theory. And by the way I see Raymonds went out last night and beat Donegal again in the championship, and I hear it was a very good game of football, so it was not a given that Donegal would have won the final, Raymonds earned the cup. rmtusa (USA) - Posts: 10 - 15/06/2016 15:55:50 1867271 Link 0 |
@rmtusa, haha conspiracy theory?? Really?? I didn't question whether St. Ray's would win or deserved the cup…they have been putting up some scores and rightfully deserved the cup after showing in the Park for the final. I was questioning what sort of punishment would Donegal A get for not bothering to show up for the match. I personally know people involved in St. Ray's, very solid boys, so I'm happy they won. Ah no worries, if we can't ask questions on here what is the use of this website. Nice win for St. Ray's last night, they are going well and hope they keep the fight going throughout the championship.

Some good matches lined up this weekend, the Saints are finally making their Senior debut against Kerry and the Big 2 go at it in Monaghan vs Donegal. Who are people's winners? I'm going to go with Westmeath and Rangers on Saturday, and on Sunday the Saints to beat Kerry by decent score and Donegal getting the better of Monaghan this time around. Word is that neither Kerry or the saints will light up the field. I go with Kerry and Monaghan to beat Donegal. Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 17/06/2016 17:12:13 1868266 Link 0 |
Yeah Cross would have to agree, just hope Saints make a good showing as they have been training away and people are anxious to see how they go against the rest of the division. Not bad for them to get eased into it instead of having them face Donegal or Monaghan right away. Say the 2nd match will be feisty enough, a lot of skilled players between both teams but with all the off season talk and the no show for league, say there is no love loss between them. Hope its a good one!

Who was in the park yesterday that could give us a run down on Barnabas v Kerry and Donegal v Monaghan matches? Were they any good, did Barnabas play well or were Kerry off??? How did the match go between the 2 big dogs? By the small bits i read and heard, Monaghan started strong but Donegal finished strong.
