I'm not sure what you mean by the better halt. But: Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2866 - 08/09/2015 17:09:33 1784752 Link 0 |
Has to be Tipp for me given that great KK team had cake walked so many previous finals. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 08/09/2015 17:12:29 1784755 Link 0 |

Tipp, great match, the offaly match was pretty dire, great finish though, and I think Kerry were more sickened by it than Kilkenny. They still are. flack (Dublin) - Posts: 1055 - 08/09/2015 17:27:31 1784768 Link 0 |
Offalys win was easily the best as it was much closer game and a far more dramatic win in how it happened. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2313 - 08/09/2015 17:52:43 1784783 Link 0 |

There were TShirts printed celebrating Kerry's 5 before the final in 82. It's lovely to see an act of hubris like that punished. ODwyer is said to have locked himself away for days after. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1172 - 08/09/2015 17:59:59 1784786 Link 0 |
Cavan beating Kerry in the 1933 semi final, without a doubt the one eh everyone eh remembers!!............. ramor101 (Cavan) - Posts: 289 - 08/09/2015 19:24:43 1784824 Link 0 |
Annoying thread cos the football folk are predictably saying Offaly and hurling folk Tipp. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 08/09/2015 19:31:57 1784833 Link 0 |
Let's face it nobody remembers these 2 halts as much as when Down won the Dr McKenna Cup in 2008 to halt Tyrones 5 in a row. They were printing 5 in a row t-shirts from omagh to dungannon. Great to see hubris like that punished. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1172 - 08/09/2015 19:41:48 1784837 Link 0 |
Both were dramatic finals.Personally I enjoyed 2010 more. Barnowl94 (Galway) - Posts: 3150 - 08/09/2015 19:45:04 1784842 Link 0 |
Offaly in 1982. It was an iconic moment for the GAA. It was like Galway in 1980 (the speech and the song by Joe McDonagh), Clare in 1995 (Ger Loughnane determination at half time and celebrations afterwards) ..to me these are 'hair standing on your neck moments'..Tipp v KK as great game in 2010 and maybe one of the best finals ever but for me it was not iconic in the same way.. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 08/09/2015 21:12:54 1784874 Link 0 |
Donegal halting Dublin's soon to be 5 in a row team last year gets my vote. (Sorry Clondalkindubs 5 in a row team )×Only messing Clondalkindub ;) AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 08/09/2015 21:17:28 1784878 Link 0 |
