Interesting to see who the next Down manager will be. Whoever it is they will need to gain the absolute respect and support of both the Down players and supporters - it's no secret that McCorry failed to fully gain that. I mean it's never a good idea for an Armagh man to come in and tell our Benny Coulter were to go - even the Pope wouldn't get away with that! It's no secret that Down are having a few financial woes therefore we need someone who is passionate and willing to take on the team without looking for the big paycheck at the end. Moreover, the new manager needs to not just look at the inter county senior team but look also at the underage structure in Down. I've been saying since 2012 that Down need to build up a team from U14 and nurture it and maintain this every year to try and restore a bit of footballing pride back in the county. Rumour had it that Tony McEntee wanted to look at the whole inter county structure in Down across all age groups, if that was the case I would be happy to see him considered. In summary, Down need someone passionate, smart and miracle working...maybe St.Jude is free. Someone who is willing to take on a very heavy load and try and gel together an apparently divided team. I tell you if I wasn't heading off to uni I'd be putting my own name in the hat!!

MissDownFanatic,,,, I must agree with you on the underage thing ! Don't agree with the devolepment squads having 60 odd players, really that is helping no one , what we need to do is find 30 elite players around the age of 15 and jelly them together for the future ! Kerry did that with last year's winning minor team when they where 15 , and have being doing that since , as Jack o Connor once told me talent has to be nurtured from a young age ,
