Awful post mate.

"...can only conclude that a serious number of posters on here have pathetic lives, aren't allowed to over rule their other halves at home, have serious issues about being outraged at something that happened on tv, or all of the fore mentioned."

What has this got to do with the subject and what do you know about the lives of anyone who posts here?

As an aside:
"If you are going to call out cheating, cynicism, gamesmanship, ducking, diving or theatricals, call THEM ALL out and not just be outraged by 1 incident"

Outrage generally starts with the most serious/blatant/recent incident: in this case McCann, if there is another such incident I'm sure it'll generate its own thread. I can understand your and other Tyrone people's embarrassment about this but all posters are very much entitled to criticise this player, whether they agreed with his ban or not. This "young AMATEUR" player, as you put it (as if that somehow absolves him), has cheated another "young AMATEUR" player and team who have put in the same effort. I don't know how you can call it a mistake, his first reaction was to take a dive - not something I'd normally have associated with the GAA, all seemed to come naturally to him, that's what is getting under people's skins.

In the days of yore you daren't dive... you daren't even fall down as there were a lot of horses galloping around who would tramp on your head and drive on(to coin a phrase).

And the referees had never heard of Specsavers.

GPA will cone out with a great long meaningless statement full of political correctness... but not until things are quiet enough for them to safely put their heads above the parapet.

Good post there rcarragh. The thing about a lad throwing a punch is it is usually happens from a rush of blood to the head and is a split second decision that is immediately regretted. I think I am right in saying McCann stayed on the ground for quite a while after taking his dive feigning injury and pretending he needed treatment - not the actions of someone who regrets what they have just done.
I expect there will be nobody from Tyrone complaining about refereeing decisions here on Monday morning, afterall unless they have complained about every bad refereeing decision in the championship since 1970 then they shouldn't single out one made by Maurice Deegan this weekend.

Soma sounds like you're expecting some bad refereeing decisions to go against Tyrone at the weekend. Me too. Here's hoping Maurice Deegan referees the match fairly.

What Micky hart said about the incident, MC Cann was wrong and if he had it all to do again it would not have happened is fine by me Also I'm sure , on the quite MH had a word with the lad
M H is also right about D Hughes as by GAA rules you should not lift or attemp to lift your hand to another player
As regards the R Kavanagh/D Hughes incident , when RK lost his boot did D Hughes not kick it away ? Can anyone enlighten me on that? I recall R K going to collect his boot and then the flare up.
But all along actions every bit as bad has happened over the years, for example the All Ireland's finals of 1987/1988. Yet there was no big outcry , again in 1996 Meath v Mayo no big outcry, no hanging out to dry or make an example of anyone. Yet we have posters on here praising those teams, especially Cork and Meath
So I say fair play to Tyrone for standing by T McCann , and fair play to M Hart for the same stance
BUT IT WAS NOT FOR HIS DIVE THEY STOOD BY HIM, AND THE SAME FOR MOST OF US POSTERS WHO SUPPORTED MCCANN
it was the way RTE and the trial by media of McCann prompting the GAA to act that made us back MC Cann --NOT THE DIVE.
after all the stick we got in 2011 I think J McGuinness said--- He was not worried what people thought about Donegal--- all that mattered to him was the Donegal team , sponsors and the people of Donegal.
I think M Hart is on the same boat --- all that should matter him is the team and all Tyrone supporters. And they don't owe anyone an apology After all none of us are whiter then white

Sam on Errigal. you have a great unbiased view on things. I give you great credit for this. This week end should be a very enjoyable one with all the games thats on. now there are a few items that I am not so sure about as I have been busy this past few days. (1) Was Darren Hughes red card rescinded ? (2) wasent young Meylers black card recinded?. cant wait to see our neighbours in Croke Park on sunday. fair play to Mickie Harte on getting a relatively new Tyrone team to an All Ireland semi final. Cant stand listening to all the begrudgers wishing them ill luck. talk about bad sportsmanship. To my fellow countymen. Get over your beating. stop blaming other counties for your misfortunes. We simply had no answer to Tyrone two weeks ago. We simply cannot get any further than an Ulster title.
