AI Semi-Final Dublin V Mayo

Clondalkindub, when I say quality ball, I mean anything within a 5 yard diameter where AOS can get up and catch.. If we put enough pressure on them in the middle and their half backs, they will end up sending in balls which require him to run, IMO if that happens, ROC wins every time..

The more as time goes on, I feel Jim is going to mix things up a bit.. The one thing we are assured of is the 15 named for both sides Thurs evening defo won't start - a lot of people give out about that, I actually love it! Adds to the excitement!

If Dublin play to the best of their ability, then we win.. Mayo will be on their best form so Dublin need to be.. Come on the Dubs!!

Joxer I am 5 rows from the front centre of the cusack! Let's hope it is a sunny day!!

Seen a few Mayo lads on Facebook saying O'Shea will play centre half forward and work off breaking ball and lay offs? Can't see it myself, he has the size and power but not the legs and not sure about his shooting from distance either... plus don't fix something that ain't broken

Mayo played a blinder against Donegal, They are not coming in under the rader, Everyone, Everyone feels this is FINALLY their year. Hunger this and hunger that is all i seem to be hearing, They have this unquenchable thirst that only winning an all ireland will get rid of. No mention of Dublin who cruised past Fermanagh cause of those two goals they conceded. Suits us absolutely perfectly. Set up for Dublin to spoil all the neutrals fun.

You are going to hear a lot of bluffing by both teams and supporters before Sunday so I'd say it will be late Saturday or early Sunday before people give their honest opinion and predictions, so we may as well bluff away until then. I hear Ciaran McDonald is togging out Sunday, whether he plays or not we don't know, also if Mayo win they are supposed to have asked the GAA for the All Ireland Final to be played in Dubai, we haven't seen a bit of sun or dry weather since last October, we need some sort of summer, the plan is to bring plane loads of turf out to Dubai to dry and then bring it home after the final

Of course he will play full forward. Will more than likely start out around the middle as he has most of the time this year and move in after about five minutes. Waynol, I don't know how you think EVERYONE feels this is our year, a lot of hope more than expectation and Dublin are still going in as favourites. Everyone loves an underdog and like it or not, until we get over the line we will still be the underdog in many peoples eyes. Dublin are most certainly not coming in under the radar after their demolition of Leinster and there's not a hope of Mayo underestimating them.

I've rarely looked forward to a game more than this one because there are some fascinating matchups. I could honestly see either team winning by six points or more if they get things right on the day. Whoever deals with the other teams not so secret weapon (Cluxton and O'Shea) better will probably win the game.

Liam Mc Hale on the bench for Sunday! Dublin will be favourites, playing at home, and will want to avoid a slip up as happened last year. It's a hard one to call, will Mayo play Aidan O'Shea at 14, or will they have another ploy. It will be a huge test for Dublin, after their facile wins to date, (Fermanagh will disagree), and it will be interesting how they cope with sustained pressure.
I think whoever wins on Sunday will ask serious questions of Kerry, and can beat them.
All neutrals want Mayo to win, but games are not won on sentiment, they have to be won on the field.

If Dublin perform on the day I think we will win. I think we are the better all round team and panel.

Cluxton's kickouts are going to be interesting.. Mayo pushing up on the kicks and then zonal marking reduces the space. Kerry pushed up on our kickouts in 2013 but did not zonal mark so there was acres of space in their half back line... example being Kev Mc's goal.. Mayo will be doing anything they can to make cluxton go long and central and try slow down his kickouts.

I keep going over in my head how this game will be a tactical fight.. let's hope it is a shootout.

Mayo have always had the hunger, Connolly and Holmes are the difference this year IMO.

BTW on my point about Cluxtons kickouts, I am not so worried about Mayo pushing up on our kickouts. We have gone long numerous times, it is about finding that free man.. Flynn and Diarmo are masters of bursting away from their markers and finding space..

Cluxton will not be kicking toward Parsons, SOS and Moran that is for sure.. Also if he kicks into our half forwards, if we lose it here, there is a lot of ground and players for Mayo lads to beat and get toward our goal..

Mayo seem to be even more deluded than usual in the lead up to this one! The Dubs are being written off on the basis of our supposed 'poor' performance against Fermanagh which suits us nicely.

Don't think the bookies feel that this is FINALLY Mayos year. You can't really argue with that. This is shaping up like 2013 where Mayo peaked against Donegal, scraped past Tyrone and were then gone completely off the boil for the final. This year they peaked against Sligo, scraped past a tired Donegal and will be cannon fodder for the Dubs on Sunday. Dublin are aiming to peak for the final against Kerry and, as in all their games so far, will hardly have to break sweat at the weekend. As for all the neutrals being up for Mayo, you haven't spoken to any Roscommon, Galway or Sligo lads not to mention the odd lad from Wexford. It's like Man Utd playing West Brom in the Cup Final, most neutrals would like to West Brom win but in real life the overwhelming favourites rarely lose. I'm really looking forward to the Kerry, Dublin final. Now that will be some game. Again most of the neutrals will be up for the underdogs, Kerry.

clondalkindub, he will definitely feature there, but don't be surprised to see him moving out the field. One thing we can take for granted is that the Dublin gameplan will be built on top of how they are set up to counter AOS at FF. So what do mcmahon and O'Carroll do if o'shea takes off out to wing forward? If Dublin haven't planned for his adaptability as much as his size, they could be caught out.

Seriously, you're the deluded one to think that anyone is writing off the favourites to win the game. Dublin are the team to beat not the other way around but Mayo are capable of beating them on their day. If believing that is writing off Dublin then a lot of people are guilty.

Why are the dubs trying to pretend they are the underdogs when everyone knows they are the favourites across all bookies? When you play the cute hoor, you are supposed to have some grain of truth in there at least. You lads are coming across more full of sh** than cute hoor...

The Master the bookies means nothing as last year proves.. Dublin have a larger fan base and fans back them in which shorten odds.. Dublin will always be shorter odds than they should be due to this. The bookies are covering themselves.

It is literally a 50/50 match, you know it, I know it.. Are Dublin the favs with the bookies? Yes

Would be interesting if the Hoganstand lads put a poll up on the main page to see who people fancy Dublin or Mayo! and keep it off facebook, them facebook polls are never realistic!!
