Its going to be a very close final. The question is will the corofin backs be able to handle young mike martyn. If they can i cant see them losing. G.McCarthy (Galway) - Posts: 10 - 20/09/2008 23:52:11 103866 Link 0 |
If certain Corofin backs use the same tactics that they used against certain Caherlistrane forwards then the Cortoon forwards won't be too long shutting them down. All I can say is well done to the Caherlistrane forward in question for not retaliating - I guess a county player being shown up by a teenager is never going to go down well but some of what we saw on Saturday was appalling. I think Cortoon will win. They will have learned a lot from the replay last Saturday. If the corofin county players behave as they did last Saturday they certainly do not deserve to win. Corofin backs were continuously holding the jerseys of the forward and getting away with it. I am sure it is demoralising for a county man to be so obviously beaten by a forward who is 10 years younger than you. It is a credit to young monaghan how he held his head and continued to play football and did not retaliate. He will be one of the players to watch out for in the future. lovegaa (Galway) - Posts: 1 - 22/09/2008 10:36:54 104238 Link 0 |

"seen both games, and yes corofin backs were dirty. especially on young monaghan and on young o,brien the first day. if these county players were half as tough or as dirty playing for galway, then maybe kerry would not be contesting last sundays all-ireland final." Where did ya pull this load of rubbish out of. I think its a case of sour grapes to be honest. You could of picked maybe 50 or 60 other clubs in galway and call them dirty before corofin. Corofin and dirty dont go together. So go back off there and try and pick something else to be conterversial about because that just wont pass here. Corofin are masters of the art of fouling players out the field when they are not in scoring positions. They have done this for years and it is drilled into their underage players. However, I find it amusing that Caherlistrane are griping about another team being dirty as they have fouled their way up out of Intermediate.
