Don't respond to Westisbest. He is a wind up merchant. He just fawns over KK. You could see him in a skirt at half time in Nowlan Park with his black and amber pom poms.

Cue: I'd agree with everything you said. He mightn't be the best hurler on the field, but in a team with infamous mental fragility, he always stands up to be counted.

Great to see both sets of supporters feeling cagey on this one (with the usual exceptions). Should be a cracker of a game between two powerful sides.

really excited about seeing conor whelan playing tomorrow, from what i hear he has been very impressive in the club championship. going well for the intermediates also, particularly his 2-2 against kilkenny. a real goal scorer he seems to be as well - i dont think anyone has forgotten about his goal against limerick in the minor game in croke park last year, stunning goal. i wouldnt be surprised to see him in the inside line - at some stage at least. any of the 3 picked inside could easily float to the half forward line from time to time to allow whelan to go move closer to goal.
huge credit to cunningham for picking him it has to be said, shows the manager is not afraid to pick players on form and it shows that if a player is good enough he's old enough.
best of luck to galway tomorrow and especially to young whelan.

This is a very interesting match up. I feel that Cork have come good at the right time but whether its enough against a tough Galway team is difficult to figure out. Lehane has been superb but can be inconsistent. Paudie if he comes on is capable of scoring goals from nothing. Harnedy also a top class forward. Walsh has it the ground running and offers a lot to the team this year with better lines of running and a better touch as well as excellent line balls- all positives for Cork. Galway stil rely a little too much on Joe but his forward companions really need to step up today if they are to have a chance. The Galway backs are very powerful asnd mobile and their direct approach int he traditional style will trouble Cork whose defence has stiffened their resolve. So another intriguing clash but I go for Joe to create and score a few goals to bring them through! It will be a very very interesting game!

Zero intensity to the game it's like watching a challenge match not a knockout championship game.

The first half of the first game lacked intensity as well.

It should have been a straight red - if that was a Louth/Armagh or weaker county hurler ( which happened) - it would have been a straight red

Cork are in danger of being called the "Revels".Some tasty games, but a lot of dissapointments.

I feel the RTE panel are too 'hard' on Cork - poor analysis - not good enough, don't have the players - a man in the pub half cut comes up with that analysis,

Look Cork aren't a bad side, the sending off was a turning point ( the correct decesion) - but it had a major say,

the Cork defense was left wanting at times.....

We often wonder what sets teams apart when it comes to success. Mention of Lehane "playing out of his skin at the moment" is an example. He wouldn't be a regular on the Tipp team and most certainly not on the Kilkenny one. Popping up occasionally during a match and scoring a couple of outstanding scores might be sufficient for Cork but not for either of the other two successful teams. And with regards being defensive, Cork may have scored an average of 23 points in the last few games but should their defence leak goals, which is highly likely now that they will be up against the best from here on, that won't be enough. Cork forwards don't work hard enough and therefore cannot afford the luxury of a sweeper. They might manage to keep the score down but won't score enough. Galway, Kilkenny and Tipp are a completely different kettle of fish than Wexford or a demoralised Clare team.

I posted the above some days ago and was put down in a not so nice manner by Cork posters in particular. I was accused of being a WUM and insulted by them especially Mr Bunny. Not a bad prediction and perhaps they might be more open minded in future. Up Galway!

Benny is a fair poster westisbest. One of the better writers on this site.He knows Cork GAA inside out.Its a tough couple of days for Cork. However, its up to themselves to get their house in order.Big hammerings like today, and last year v Tipp are not the norm for Cork.

Congrats tribesmen.I predicted a Galway victory, but was somewhat surprised at the complete dominance over a rudderless Cork.Galway are serious contenders for thwe big prize.A forward unit with strenght, aerial prowess, speed and an eye for goal.Young C Mannion was a joy to watch.I said it after the Dublin replay that after one game I had seen enough of him to say he looked the real deal.He has proven it was no flash in the pan.Flynn,Glynn & Donnellan are powerful men.Cooney is another physical prescence.Joe had a poor day in front of the posts. No doubt he will have the compass working perfectly for next day.Great players rarely have two poor games in succession.Burke,Smith and Harte chipped in with valuable scores from distance.Galway have quite a few strings to their bow now.One man team??Ha,not on your nelly.
At the back Galway overpowered, outfought and outhurled their counterparts.Cork had no space to breath.Tannion mans the centre and hits anything that moves.A nice mix of physicality and pace in the back line.Galway have all the artillery needed to beat Tipperary. That is a discusion for another day.For now,its a job very well done for Anthony Cunningham and his men.To beat Cork out the gate, and do so in Thurles, will make the long drive home a piece of cake for all Galway hurling people.Very impressive.

Hon Galway. Im surprised at the margin of victory. I predicted 2-3 points at best either way. Strange game. Galway dominated possession but Cork were tidier and more efficient. Galway should have ended it by halftime but lots of wides and wasted possessions kept Cork alive. Nice game for the 18 year old for Galway. I'm happy but Tipp will be far tougher and Canning and the rest will have to play excellent and mistake free to beat them. Tipp have owned Galway in recent years.

Great To see two Leinster teams in the last four , Galway today were impressive , big Joe Canning could have been taken off , it was great to see the other forwards step again and win this game. Glynn for me is one of Galways best forwards and doesn't get enough credit , strong , great ball winner and can take a score .
