What is going on here ? Is Davy Byrne , who was brutally assaulted getting protection from anyone ? If this is let slide by our leaders at HQ , then it's a crime against morality . Apparently the camera didn't not pick up the incident .. BS . Most county sides have 3-4 cameras located at different angles so there has to be evidence . This isn't about Dublin or Armagh or anyone ; it's about player rights and player protection . Jim Gavin's interview on newstalk was embarrassing also , name and shame Jim and protect your player . What about the referee? Did he not see this brutal assault ?? Did he forget his pencil at home ??

I cannot comment on the Davy Byrne issue as we dont know the full facts.
However there were suspensions in this match. The Tyrone official was suspended AFAIK. Also there was no punches etc so while it wasnt nice to see suspensions would have been overboard. That is my take on it anyway.

A few prominent Dublin players to be banned....if caught on camera? If it were two northern teams lets say replace Dublin with Tyrone the general outrage would be much greater.

Ormond : excuse me ? What are you on about ? Is this an attack on my grammar ? If yes , this just proves that you would prefer to simply argue than discuss the issue . I'd be quite insulted at that remark . I remember not to long ago that you made an error and you weren't too pleased when someone pointed it out . I apoligise my level of intellect is not at your standard .
For what it's worth , I felt Donegal handled bitegate of 2013 very badly . Name and shame if there's nothing to hide . What exactly are the GPA doing ?

From what I hear hear, our AI hopes will take a major hit if sanctions are dealt as a result of watching this video.

YEW TREE...if the GAA go down tbhe route of banning players for what happens in a challenge match, it will end challenge matches for good! Isnt it funny, for yesrs lards are getting sent off in challenge matches but as soon as it involves the chance to derail the Dubs, everyone is all over it, and disguising their motives as "sympathy" for poor ol Davy Byrne!!

I was just wondering why you put spaces between all the words and commas, full stops etc as by doing you you don't understand what a full stop/comma is as they are meant to bring a sentence to a close and putting a space between your last word and the full stop makes sentences harder to read quickly. 16/07/2015 12:28:27 realdub From what I hear hear, our AI hopes will take a major hit if sanctions are dealt as a result of watching this video.Well that would be fine if sanctions are warranted by a disciple committee reviewing the tape.

Friendly matches are still played under the rules and regulations of the GAA so any offences committed by players have to meet the appropriate sanction.

Isnt it funny, for yesrs lards are getting sent off in challenge matches but as soon as it involves the chance to derail the Dubs, everyone is all over it, and disguising their motives as "sympathy" for poor ol Davy Byrne!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liam, there are many things that happened in the GAA for years, but it doesn't mean that it's right that they should still be happening. And 'lads getting sent off' is a bit different to a player being hospitalised for 2 nights. A football ban for the perpetrator seems lenient when compared to the criminal charges he'd be facing if this had happened anywhere other than on a football field.
I agree that this will end challenge matches, which may be no bad thing given the expense they incur, and it's been obvious all along that the risk of suspensions is why Dublin haven't pushed for sanctions against the Armagh player. However, it happened, in a game between 2 county sides, under the rules of the Association, and refereed by an intercounty referee. If there was thuggery involved and if there's evidence to prove it, then there should be suspensions handed out. The reputation of the game is far more important than any one county's AI chances.

TC
Cheddar Plunkett, Justin McNulty and Terry Hyland were on Newstalk Sunday and said these things happen in challenge games ALL THE TIME and this seems to be the first time there has been a clamour for an investigation Nothing will change my opinion that the reason there is such a clamour for sanctions is cos people wants the DUBS sanctioned, not the lad who hit Davy Byrne Terry Hyland and Justin McNulty both said that if there were cameras at ulster challenge games that no one would be playign football period for all the suspensions handed out... Can you not see my point TC?
And as I said, lads pretending their sympathy is with Davy while its the exact OPPOSITE is the truth, thats the most galling thing of all
