The Royal did ok against Armagh last year but faded in the final 1/4 I seem to remember. Hopefully we get a reaction from them following that Westmeath defeat. The Royal by 3.

No harm lads but Tyrone won't be changing anything for Meath lol. You have about 2 players who need watched. All this chopping and changing of bog standard players wise up! Tyrone will go about their business they way they have last 2 games and it will either work or it won't.

Well which two players are concerned about then my wise friend, considering your last two games were yet another miserable loss to Donegal and a struggle at home over Limerick I would have thought that your "business" wasn't in great shape at the minute......

Two teams that will be learning their trade in division 2 next year..which in many ways I find quite remarkable.

Everybody here knows Meaths problems,But what is Tyrones problem?

Tyrone Have the best Gaa facility in the country.. When NASA is building a space station on the moon they may ask Tyrone Gaa could they borrow the blue prints..played more times in division 1 than a lot of other counties..great under age coaching ..plenty of under age success in the last few years...most recent 2008,2010 minor and now recent u21 sucess

But yet they are in division 2 with Meath next year..Tyrone won't win All Ireland this year and as Mickey Harte would say no division 2 team will win all Ireland so that definitely means no All Ireland next year..plus there is no guarantee they will get promoted into division 1 next year either.. So in 4 years we could be seeing Tyrone back at top 4 at least?

Meath got embarrassed by Dublin last year and Westmeath this year..but no player walked away from the panel.. Which to me is a good sign...did any Tyrone players leave the panel?

So where and what or how and why are Tyrone going Backways at Senior level?

Derfil that probably cause of Meath and Tyrone success in recent past, jealousy, whereas everyone can like a county that go win nothing even excuses made for poaching players from fellow div 3 counties.

Tyrone's problem is that Micky harte has stayed too long at the helm. Time for a change.

Hah, fair play, good post and some pertinent questions asked.

I don't believe we have gone backwards, we have simply stagnated, run out of ideas and have sat on our asses whilst other counties have moved ahead of us, notably Donegal and Monaghan in Ulster, whilst Dublin are light years ahead nationally and Kerry, well, they are just Kerry. The structures are in place, the footballers are there but the whole management set up is in need of an overhaul, and read into that as you will. Ultimately regardless of the outcome of tomorrows game, I believe Tyrone are in a better place than a Meath who will for ever and a day live in the shadow of the Dublin behemoth.

Indeed not, we came close to being liked in the run up to the '91 final v Down yet I'd rather of been still hated and won

I never knew a Meath GAA person who'd back down from a fight no matter the size of the opponent. They played some great stuff in the first half v Westmeath but badly need to address where they went wrong in the second half. I'm a big fan of the Tyrone Football team, especially Cavanagh, the most under-rated player ever, but they have gone back a bit. When Cavanagh finishes they'll have a huge gap to fill.

I saw Meath beat Tyrone in a Croke Park qualifier a few years ago when Tyrone were favourites so forget about form.

Meath by 2 points.

Meath are the strangest team ever. They go through periods when their direct ball straight into the forwards and having support runners tearing up through the middle make them look like a top team. Its the way to play the modern game because the accuracy of the fooT passing is top notch. It's very traditional Meath football and super to watch. Unfortunately they stop playing completely for huge periods. I don't think they look fit enough to beat anybody at the moment.

Are Meath playing Omagh Town FC or Tyrone? 2-0 after 22 mins. Sounds like riveting stuff so far!
