Teams announced, Dalton in for burke and no Newman are the two main points apart from that team pretty much as expected.

This is going to be a dog fight in wet conditions, id take stoney over Dalton in that type of game every day of the week. Kev at 6? And still no Gillespie or O'Rourke, maybe on bench, Newman just injured his hand don't know why its taking so long unless another injury happened or it was more serious than first thought.
Looks like mod is going all out attack , that could be football hari-kari at this stage, that team is loose at the back, doesn't fill me with confidence, i don't know what management are thinking, hopefully i am wrong and they are right, just don't know .

The forecast for tomorrow afternoon is looking pretty grim with heavy rain and a blustery wind which will add an extra dimension to the game. A slippery surface and greasy ball will favour the short handpassing game, whoever masters the conditions best will be in the driving seat.

Judging by the team selection,Micko is going the same way tactically as he did against Wicklow and Westmeath, and also judging by his comments in the local paper. If this is the case, its the end of the road for the team and him without question.3 small men in the full forward line against Tyrone won't work.If it is a wet day, well that will make it worse,in the tactics he will use.

The rain won't effect us if we just adapt to it and play clever football, every lad on our team grew up playing football in Ireland so rain is no excuse. Anyway we had perfect weather conditions against Wicklow and Westmeath and played horribly for large parts of those 2 games and we won away to Down in the league in rain and strong wind so again the weather shouldn't make a real difference.

Yeah wet and windy day forecast, 3 small men in ff line?
The most worrying thing is the way team is set graham Reilly would again be the key, in wet windy conditions it wont work, easy to slip and mark .
Got to say lot less confident with how team set up, and mods comments sends a shiver down my spine.

Htaem i agree, but my worry is the team are set up for dry fast conditions, now maybe they will adapt , i hope so anyway.

We definitely do need to adapt royaldunne, if we try to play the same way we did against Westmeath then forget about, it's only a matter if how much and even if the sun was splitting the stones, it'd make no difference. I'd like to think that with MOD knowing his head is on the block, surely he won't play right into Mickey Harte's hands.

Its the type of tactics that worries me,and it is harder to play that style in bad conditions.

I know it's harder to play attacking football in the rain but my point is if we play attacking football we'll be beaten no matter what the weather is like, it will just be a case of by how much. MOD has to try and come up with something else if we're to have any chance and the players need to stand up and be counted, no looking around for leaders or terrible decisions in front of goals.

My main worry is that Tyrone are going to swallow us up and kick points for fun on the counter attack, and worst of all it's like everybody knows this is going to happen except for the Meath management, it's very frustrating.

I think the weather will suit Tyrone. Meath have young quick forwards who would prefer dry sod I'd imagine.
Tyrone by 4-5 points.

I seriously doubt that will line out like that for starters.....I don't care what McMahon scored last day, a wet day against Tyrone in omagh is not a place for him, Davy Dalton a very strange pick too

Htaem its akin to watching a train crash in slow motion.
For the love of god we cant play all out attack, why is it that every Meath fan knows what will happen if we play like that but management don't? Honestly micky Harte must have woke up this morning and felt like he just won the lotto. Unreal.
As for McMahon, scored 2-2 last day, he is entitled to take his place, yes the game wont suit him but maybe a quick ball and he would beat keeper, i actually don't see any of the other forwards capable of getting a goal.
Depressing.

Agree with a previous post. Ive played more game in the rain than in the sun. Wont make a difference to the game

How about this
1 McHugh
2 keoghan
3 k Reilly
4 mcentee (not best position but needs must)
5 burke
6 harnan (he is nit a hf)
7 menton
8 d Tobin
9 Rooney
10 biggy
11 tomey (if fit if not Carroll)
12 Carroll (not saying permanently, but he has a great pass )
13 Wallace
14 bray
15 McMahon
Wallace could drop back to 12 if we not playing Carroll and bring Newman into 13.

Ye Mickey Harte must have woke up and thought he won the lotto when he seen our team, but then again maybe MOD is being clever and wants him to think that way and will change things around before throw in. I don't have much that this is ploy by our management but I'm hoping it is, either way Harte is a very experienced manager and is well able to adapt quickly but it'd be nice to see us throwing a snapper in the works rather than being painfully predictable.

No harm lads but Tyrone won't be changing anything for Meath lol. You have about 2 players who need watched. All this chopping and changing of bog standard players wise up! Tyrone will go about their business they way they have last 2 games and it will either work or it won't.

I see RTE are tipping Meath to win so they are fancied in many quarters despite the reservations of some posters on here. It seems that its Tyrone who will be playing the giant killing role on Saturday afternoon.

HA! I don't think many people seriously believe we're favourites, just take a look at the predictions thread and you'll notice it's all one way traffic, also the bookies have Tyrone at 4/9, while we're 5/2. It doesn't take nostradamus to predict what's going to happen tomorrow, still I'm going to head up anyway, I was at our first game this year so f**k it I'm going to Omagh to watch our last, it's a long wait till January.
