We are better than Westmeath man for man,but that didn't make much of a difference.Actually I reckon only 4 of their players would make it on our team MAX.

Apart from Reilly I cant think of any other meath player that would make any top team. Lads on about Keoghan corner back I have told ye numerous times he was tried there in challenge match against Roscommon two weeks before Westmeath game and diarmuid murtagh scored 2-5 from play off him in opening half. Would murtagh or any forward in the country do that to Higgins or johnny cooper? no way in hell. Ye are slightly deluded

Yes and what happens in challenge matches is always mirrored perfectly come Championship, a Roscommon sympathiser like yourself should be only too aware of paying heed to such things, more in Murtagh's mind to score 2-5 against Sligo than in a challenge match against Meath, the subsiding foundations of Glennon Brothers Pearse Park are more sound than your theories......

"this team has the potential to beat ANY team in country"

Imagine how good they'd be if they still had the greatest player of all time never to win an All-Ireland - Cian Ward.

how can he or keoghan be judged against Kerry?

Eh cos in recent times you've been out on your ***** before you could ever hope to meet the likes of Kerry.

Derry City take your backhanded compliments about tyrone on to a derry forum, "my second team blah blah" I would say you have seen little or known of Tyrone to even compliment on them or know anything at all about the state of Tyrone football.

Wouldn't of minded having him about this year though as a bit of a steadying influence.....

redhanddefender I know more than most outside tyrone. My family home is the mellon country inn owned by the brownes. Paddy browne was my grandfather although the new owners have spelt the bar paddy browns with no E sadly. Other side are from Plumbridge. Devines. Good tyrone name. Ive been to 3 ALs I dont remeber much of 95. 2005 was great and the other one was 2010 and no tyrone. Last big game i was at was the 13 semi. i do go to most of tyrones Mckenna cup games and then usually myself and family are divided for league games. I go to about 60% derry 40% tyrone if fixtures and time allow. As for championship? I was only at 5 of them last year but I think thats all they played. i missed the donegal game this year but hoping to get to a few more if we dont both progress and have games on the same day. I think my fave game besides the AL final (the winning one) to date was the donegal game in 2007/8. Its the one thing me and my family agree on....the joy of beating donegal ha ha

Oh and i forgot to mention the countless St.Enda's games. I usually miss the opening 5 min of each half. the stout in the clubhouse is amazing and find it hard to drag myself away ha ha

Rd, there is optimism & then there is delusion.

You say that Meath could potentially beat any team in the country but at the same time you reckon Dublin are unbeatable.

Last year you gave Donegal no chance against Dublin, were fulsome in your praise when they did & now you reckon it was a "fluke".

You're a hard man to figure out......

We could not beat any team in the country right now, we could most definitely not beat Dublin, Donegal, Kerry and most probably not cork and monaghan right now....anybody else if things went right could be beaten, and I include mayo in that...but we'd have too play near perfect for 70 mins

I believe this Meath team have a lot of pride in their jersey. Compared to previous Meath teams they have rarely shown any fight. However I have a feeling we are going to see a huge Meath performance on Saturday which will make for a cracking game. In saying that Tyrone in Omagh will be a tough one, I predict Tyrone by 1 point.

Kiloughter. Not all the blame lays with the line, but a majority does. Ill state two things clearly this is the best Meath panel (with 4 additions and 4 been dropped) that has played since early last decade. Second point is as soon as ref blew his whistle against wm mods position was untenable, barring Donal lifting Sam he must go, a win on Saturday only delays the inevitable, so whenever we leave championship we also leave mod, wishing him well, but under no circumstances can he remain next year after first ever loss to the westies. That's unforgivable Imo.

Reading what Micko said in the local paper this week,I would be a concerned. He said we need to focus on the good attacking play that we played v Wicklow and Westmeath..

NOW,this is the problem, the type of attacking play or style we played in those games will not work. Why? First of all Harte will expect it,second of all,Meath will not get that space! If we look to kick ball into the full forward line,we will give it away very easily and be open to counter attack, either that or Tyrone will simply outnumber us.Now SURELY O'Dowd knows this? We need to get 12 players behind the ball when Tyrone have the ball, see if they make mistakes and then hit on the counter. We have the players to counter at pace,I believe this is the only way Meath can win..

Agree 100% with Southmeathgael..

I think with better management and more refining we should be top 8 though.

I think the problem could be tactically.you can try hard as players, but if you are playing the wrong tactics, you are in trouble

You're still trying to figure out royaldunne Muckross ? God help you.

He's the kid down the back of the class making fart noises with his armpit, desperate for attention. If you all just ignore him, he might actually grow up & say something that's worth paying attention to one day.

Ahh will you go away out of that.
Of course Meath can win. And if they play anywhere near their capabilities then they will.

I dont rate this Tyrone team at all. They are a pale shadow of their former selves.Micky Harte should give someone else a crack at the job.Great manager, but his time has passed.Obviously they will fancy their chances at home to an average enough Meath team, but i would give the royals every chance of causing a small upset.Meath have goals in them, and i fancy them by a couple of points.
