Whenever people talk about a natural forward , Id say P Joyce , simple as , had he played with Kerry we may not even be having this conversation as it would be a no brainer .Matty Forde in similar mould .
I've said it a million times I do favourites but rarely best , be it selecting Dubs best or games best , as it really is in the eye of the beholder asked to pick between say Peter the great or Gooch , of course were your from will cloud judgement .
I've often found myself picking a player as the best only to change my mind two days later .

Did not get to see Browne too often in the flesh , but many lads I know that did swear he was as good as anybody who kicked a ball , I suppose when it comes to discussing players like Browne they carried the weight of a county on their shoulders , is that pressure / stress the same as expectations trust upon a Gooch ? were the pressure is to deliver All Irelands ?

Nudie hughes of Monaghan worth a mention so too is Ollie Murphy from Meath.

Joyce, Canavan, Mc Donald very gifted.

Some honnors for a Tipp man without a stick. I saw him a few times in D4 and he was outstanding. Kicked points from everywhere and led that team

The hurling honours are particularly remarkable if he played without a stick ;)

Ollie Murphy was a very good player, but I don't think he was at the top for enough seasons to be considered a great.

Thanks be God the champhionship is starting soon, and we can get rid of the silly threads that go around 360 degrees 360 000 times.

Who was the greatest??

No idea.......but would never vote for anyone from Kerry or Meath....so this narrows things down a bit!!
