Jimmy Doyle of Tipp. for me. Unbelievable stickman. A very humble man also.

A great , great hurler and sportsman but in my humble opinion his legs are 'gone' and he should call it a day at county level. If he's not the best of his generation I can't think of anyone better.

I think he'll go but the only thing that would keep him around is the amount of people saying he's finished. Not sure what role he could play though. He must be having doubts himself or he would of made it mind up by now. He's obviously a patient man because the media have been asking him about retirement for the last 2 years now. It must be very frustrating. If I was him I'd be telling the media if you ask me again before I make my decision you'll never get another interview.

Well at least it's over and done with now. Didn't expect there to be a press conference though.Doubt it's the last we'll see of him though as I'm sure he will appear again on our screens in the not too distant future.

Who does Henry work for? Handy being able to call a press conference for the middle of the working day.

What more can be said certainly the greatest hurler I have ever witnessed. Sadly he played for Kilkenny!!
Always a gentleman met a few times and never held it against me that I was from Tipp.
Enjoy your retirement King Henry well deserved.
Seems like a black day for hurling.

Great role model for all youngsters starting off in the world of sport. Highly successfull career and always seemed humble about his triumphs.
Will go down as one of the all time GAA greats and is not too far off the likes of the Gooch and especially countless other kerry stars of the golden years. A great achievement to be mentioned in the same sentence as such legends!!

I wonder will RTE be as quick to put King Henry in the Sporting hall of fame as their beloved Brian O'Driscoll........

even tough i was never big fan of hurling but you would always watch it if there nothing else on or the football wasn't on, but henry shefflin

King Henry is gone from the sport loved very much which was hurling. He was an inspiration to all players young or old :) but what an amazing career he had with the cats over 16 year's :)it will be a long time before we see a great gaa hurling legend of his kind again :) all the achievements he has achieved is mind blowing , the cats will be crying there eyes out tonight, but amazing hurling carer he had , fair well henry shefflin :) ‪#‎oneofakind‬ :) ‪#‎outstandingplayer‬

Even tough im not a big of hurling, de football is more of my thing but anytime there was no football on you watch the hurling but you had to watch the hurling but shefflin is an exceptional talent for young people and older generation he could scores from anywhere, what he has achieved is amazing in his career with the cats and his club is outstanding :)

Brilliant in every way is the only way to describe him. His second half performance in the 2012 All Ireland Final will live long in the memory!!
