Dublin were excellent and played some very entertaining football .
Mayo fans : stop this nonsense about ' playing football the right way ' , is it some kind of insecurity you's have ? There was nothing the right way for Mayo .
Dublin are a fine side when allowed to move it at pace , I didn't think that Dublin were that defensive !

Was indeed lad, the two lads did OK and need time to settle back in. Mayo were just non-existent last night. Now the Master may be right about their training schedule but it wouldn't excuse how inept they were.

Connolly and Flynn proved how important they are to success for Dublin. Two quality footballers who can swing any close contest. Dubs certain to make the semi's IMO.

A masterclass by Dublin and a no show by us not much else you can say. A real shame considering the big crowd that showed up.

Seanie-Boy I doubt many would disagree that Basticks block was the highlight of the game, it was reminiscent of Gormallys against Armagh which was another incredible combination of skill and bravery. But don't compare either to having 14 men in your own half so 5 lads can surround an attacker to wrestle the ball off him.

Really don't see what the difference is in a masterclass in scoring or a masterclass in good defending . Tyrone came under serious scrutiny in the wake of last weekends game, but let's be honest at least it was exciting...if nothing else everyone stayed in their seats until the end of the 70mins...castlebar was half empty with more than 10mins to go

The difference between a masterclass in defending and a masterclass in attacking is Number 1 Attacking involves a higher degree of skill particularly when the so called masterclass in defending involves 14 men inside the 45 which doesn't take a lot of skill.Secondly 99% of fans of every sport in the world prefer to watch attacking play to defensive play.

The Dublin Tyrone game was pure rubbish last week and wasn't exciting at all apart from the comeback in the last 5 minutes , there was zero enjoyment to be had from that game as a spectator at least with last nights match their was some good play to admire.

Its a higher level of intellect that can appreciate all aspects of play in a game :)
How many of you never even gave a second thought to Basticks brilliant goal line block yesterday?Thats right.......you decide for yourselves who is an easily pleased quantity over quality person.

I thought it was an unbelievable block and frankly didn't get praised enough in commentary as Liam McHale seemed to think it was standard enough.

I appreciate great defending as much as anyone but proper defending like Marc O'Se and Anthony Lynch used to do not defense by numbers which dilutes the skill of defending.

Lesson in defending by the Dubs yesterday but Mayo were authors of much of their own misfortune. Too many misplaced passes overall and too many forward moves broke down due to poor hand passing. Loads of issues to work on. But perhaps this team is coming to a natural end. They have been on the go for a long time and given Mayo fans lots of highs in the last 4 yrs they owe us nothing.

Great win well worth the trip down roll on Derry in two weeks time.

gaalover......Tonights home defeat for Mayo is just another example of how much James Horan was getting out of a average panel of players they were truly punching above their weight under him.
So Horan never had a bad day at the office in the month of March. What a ridiculous post.

Dublin did indeed play very, well but once again the naivety of the new Mayo management was glaringly obvious . When beaten by Tyrone at home the only comment was " we did not think Tyrone would be that defensive" A blind man in a coma for the last 10 years would have known how defensive all the Northern teams are especially away from home . Now in the name of all that is holy !! why oh why was there no change made until into the second half ?? We continue to suffer with a management structure that goes into games with one game plan and if that fails its Good night Irene again .

I can't agree with you there Fabio. Even under Kernan they played a 3 man full forward line (like his Armagh teams) because they had Meehan Joyce and Armstrong. I think Kernan actually gave Cummins his debut, not the type of player you pick if playing a blanket defence. Galway have played some poor attacking football in recent years but that's different to having a blanket defence.

I'd say the team talk before the game is 'you have the weight of Craggy Island on your back and you have to play for the rest of your lives or until you have to go back to the home now go out there and lick some arse, I mean kick some arse' sorry that was Fr Ted and yes they play like an over 75 football team

I'm afraid Mayo have gone back to where they were in 2010. Capable of good days and really bad days.

Horan brought consistency and a refusal to give in. That has now gone. We are back to the good day then bad day.

I wouldn't panic yet though. That was Dublin at full strength bar MDMA and Mayo at 60%. Dublin were desperate to win and Mayo weren't.

There was no intensity from Mayo. You need to be really up for it to play the Dubs.

They will meet again later in the year (league semis or all ireland series) and Mayo will be better. They are trying our new forward options but no one is standing out. have to stick at it though. Kerry did it last year and found enough forwards to win Sam.
