Just to clarify. Masters is a class act. A bit slow, but the best finsiher in the game by a country mile and he'd be in my fantasy team any day of the week.

Dessie Dolan had a chance to win the all-ireland for Kerry and he missed it... again!

dessie is most certainly not passed his best and brogan is possibly the most over-reated player in the game

Brogan, Dolan, Mortimer, McGuigan, Masters. Mind you, at present, bar possibly Brogan, none of them are outstanding players.

I am surprised at some of the comments in relation to Dessie Dolan. Without doubt, he is one of the greatest forwards ever to play the game and his name must surely be up there alongside Canavan, Joyce, McGeeney, O'Neill, Moynihan, Cooper, Geraghty etc as one of the great players over the last ten years. I presume a lot of this attitiude regarding him bottling it comes from the time he missed that 13 yard free to beat Meath. But if you remember the point he got to level up the game 30 seconds beforehand, then you won't be saying such things about him. He's probably not as great as he once was but as far as I am concerned he is the best of the names mentioned by a long way. Here is how I would rank them.

1. Dessie Dolan - An all-time great, the names mentioned below are not a patch on Dessie
2. Conor Mortimer - Some of the stuff wrote about him here is lunacy, a brilliant footballer who would make any county team
3. Alan Brogan - Again, a good footballer, but still to do it on the big stage, wouldn't mind having him all the same
4. Tommy McGuigan - Has a lot to do before he can be compared with the other three in my opinion
5. James Masters - Struggling to get his place on the Cork, says it all really

Can't believe some of the stuff written here about Mortimer. Honestly I must have been watching a different player over the last few years. People calling him a club player???? What is all that about?
