1.Brogan wins hands down.(think he is in one of the top forwards in GAA) 8/10

2.Dessie Dolan talented footballer much more dangerous than what most people on this forum think. He more or less ended Brendan Guiney hopes of ever forging a career with Kerry by roasting him. 7/10

3. James Masters has not delivered on his potential. A few times he looks like a world beater but when it comes to the serious business he won't deliver the goods. in Kerry we had Declan Quill more or less a same tye of player as JM and he retired now as he couldn't get a game.Cork have improved since he is only coming on as a sub instead of being used as main attacker 5 1/2 - 6 /10

4. Tommy Mcguigan has looked promising at times but has not really proven himself yet 5 /10

5. Conor Mortimer - he would be a great CLUB footballer. he has been meat and drink for Kerry corner backs down the years.
He again looked promising coming out of underage but years later still has not developed. takes pot shots and incorrect options
a lot of the time. From a Mayo perspective is that they still look at him as their main focus of attack, they won't win their way out of a paper bag unless they change strategy 4/10

Can't understand why so many people are giving such praise to Masters. He's probably the best man in the country to kick the ball over the bar....as long as there is no one else on the field. Too slow and easily marked, if he is so good why didn't he start against kerry.

Brogan on the other hand is a class act. Made last years semi-final a real match almost single handedly. If the dubs had a couple of decent forwards with him the dubs would be serious contenders.

Daytona i dont think you can discount dolan based on one year's championship. He has been carrying westmeath on his own for the past 6/7 yrs. And Westmeath are useless when push comes to shove.
I reckon Mortimer is very talented but not quite in the top tier with the gooch, mcdonnel, clarke, forde. Doesnt win enough hard possession.
Masters is a conundrum because he was an outstanding minor but then strugged to get into his own club team for a few years (i know its Nemo but we are talking about an all-ireland winning captain).
Tommy McGuigan is class from what i have seen but he marked Keith Higgins against Mayo and Higgins is the best corner back in the country in my opinion

They obviously didnt think it was worth risking injury to their best player playing against mulluckers!!

What do you mean mullockers tiobraid? Surely a man who is apparently one of the best forwards in the country is worth risking against the best team to get to an AI final. Especially if they are willing to bring him on when the chips are down. he has never done anythi9ng playing against good defences.

I agree Masters does sometimes look poor against good defences, but the fella has scored 5-73 in the last 3 championships, not bad going even if all frees!!!!

Did masters not get the goal that rescued the game the last day and the goal that ensures they will be in the final! And he also was the reason they won the Munster final. Oh ya sorry Kerry don't have a defence anymore...excuse my ignorance!!

Yeah but Daytona this thread isnt about who are the best forwards in the country. This is about the ratings of 5 corner forwards.
If we are on about forwards then you are including the likes of Declan O'Sullivan, Donaghy, Brosnan, Galvin, Clarke, Dooher, Brian McGuigan etc none of whom are corner forwards.
Dessie Dolan is within the top 10 corner forwards in the country without question

Brogan is pretty good - very good from play - best of the lot
Dolan is useful but injuires have taken their toll now, on his day very accurate from play.
Masters is just ok. Great free taker though, excellent free taking talent
Mortimer - Only an average club player. Only for the appearance you'd never notice him. Take the free's away from Mortimer (the ones he manages not to miss) you'd be lucky to get a point a game from him against quality opposition (i.e. NOT Sligo, Leitrim, NY etc.)
