Some years ago a group of Kildare supporters were on their way to Derry for a league match when they were stopped at the Aughnacloy border post by the British army before it was dismantled. The officer with the group of soldiers asked the driver of the car whom I know personally, where they were travelling to and where the had come from. When the driver answered that they were from Kildare and travelling to Derry the officer replied " a bit far from home aren't you mate?" to which he got the reply "Not as far from home as you are".
