What makes him assume that he would fill Croke park? I would be totally against it being used for this joke of a 'sport.' hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 20/01/2015 17:16:00 1684880 Link 0 |
In fairness, who the hell is going to sit up in the top tier to watch this? They would be just watching it on the screen, in which case, stay at home and watch it on the tv. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 20/01/2015 17:27:46 1684883 Link 0 |
Joke of a sport?wow. I'm telling you now if it was against Aldo Croke Park would be full. You mightn't like it but it's massive worldwide and McGregor is the biggest name right now in UFC I think we should be applauding him for that and not knocking. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 20/01/2015 17:31:35 1684884 Link 0 |
McGregor and his silly sport are a right pain in the swiss role.Anyone into this farce is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 20/01/2015 17:32:16 1684885 Link 0 |

And here we go again, exactly why this wont happen because of people like the first 2 posters. What harm does one night do? A chance to put the place on the global map and make an epic night. People would attend for the atmosphere and o be at the event. Of course you would be watching the screens but it would still be epic. redhanddefender (Tyrone) - Posts: 913 - 20/01/2015 17:40:10 1684892 Link 0 |
and if you had a clue about the sport and the hype he has been creating if he wins or not against the champion he will still fill croke park redhanddefender (Tyrone) - Posts: 913 - 20/01/2015 17:41:07 1684894 Link 0 |

Don't like McGregor personally, but anyone who thinks he won't sell out Croke Park is wrong. GetOverTheBar (Tyrone) - Posts: 1388 - 20/01/2015 18:00:38 1684903 Link 0 |
Lads if Garth Crooks could sell Croke Park 5 times, then McGregor prob could fill it.Unfortunately, there are people out there who would swallow any old rubbish. The majority of UFC fans remind me of the chav darts fans.Youd see a better row outside a chipper in any town in Ireland of a weekend night.Pure and utter brain rot garbage, but good luck to the lad.If Justin Bieber,Britney Spears,Westlife etc can make millions, why not this crazy daisy,ahem...sport. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 20/01/2015 18:01:14 1684904 Link 0 |
A barbaric 'sport', surprised it's not illegal, McGregor is in for a quick buck while he is fresh produce and being Irish in America makes him very marketable, but hope he gets knocked out! :) realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8754 - 20/01/2015 18:16:44 1684912 Link 0 |

I'm not sure UFC is popular enough in Ireland to sell out Croker although McGregor is undoubtedly very marketable. From a personal point of view, I've given UFC a chance but it really does look like a failed boxers sport to me, unfortunately boxing is run all wrong but I think it's a far more entertaining sport than MMA. If the refs placed a limit on the amount of time fighters spend on the ground itd go a long way imo. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 20/01/2015 20:14:21 1684967 Link 0 |
