Jim McGuinness - At it again

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

"Listen, we know they're a great team," the Kilcar clubman notes in The Irish News. "They've shown that this year with their performances and their results.

"If you want to win the All-Ireland, you are going to have to cross their path eventually and look to beat them.

"We're big underdogs the next day and rightly so. We're just determined to go in and give our best. That's all you can ask.

"If it's not good enough on the day, there is nothing you can do. But we have to give it everything. We are looking forward to it."

Now there's two of them at it, disgraceful comments referring to as a great team etc :D

Did any of you Dubs see the figures quoted in the Sunday papers at the weekend. In 2012 Dublin received 1.5m from Croke Park for player development while Donegal got 43,000. And then you wonder why some think it is not a level playing field. By the way Dublin had 1580 registered teams while Donegal had 543 so by that token Donegal should have got approx. 500k

Swaar to God, wish a certain manager would just focus on HIS team and the game at hand next Sunday and stop commenting on the opposition and what we have or havent to offer....isent it strange the way not one member of the Dublin Mgt team have spoken to or will speak to the media, why , cos they dont need to resort to tryn to detract from the team.....or the game for that matter.

I was always of the opinion country people were good at fishing

Reminds me of one Dublin poster saying some Mayo fans wanted to take over the Hill so it meant all Mayo fans wanted to take over the Hill!

Jimmy McGuinness has a plan and his players are going to be ready for Sunday's game no doubt about it.

However.

Jim Gavin also has a plan.

Are the Dubs trying to take ownership of free speech now as well? Given that they control virtually everything else to do with the GAA this wouldn't surprise me at all. Doesn't Jimmy McGuinness know that you are not allowed to say what you see in the world of the Emperor's New Dublin Clothes?

Now let's get a few facts right here about speaking to the press
First of all Jim McGuinness is stating a fact and ii don't think He lied in saying what He said. And a lot of people outside Donegal would also agree including some Dublin posters who understand what He was pointing out.

Now Rockies I want to take you to task Talking about Donegal's style of play, wonder could you look at your own county in both Football and Hurling. What do you think??? Might be better to. Do that than worry about Donegal

Jimbodub,Mollymalone andJayp.
I think it's a good job Jim Galvin is not talking about things, especially if he says something like he did after the Monaghan game. His words or something similar::::: Monaghan gave us a STERN TEST Who does he think he is kidding????Is he taking people to be fools. Last year he did not make any comments either UNTIL after the All Ireland. Then it was about referees giving Dublin nothing and all this nonsense. He said very little in games leading up to the AI and the game itself but he soon showed his true colours when Sam was won.
What will he say if Donegal wins Sunday::::well he could probably CRY in our blanket.

Sam, on Sunday after 5pm he will be saying that Donegal gave Dublin a "stern test." What would you like him to say :-)

Well I hope he congratulates JMcG on masterminding Dublin's defeat and then I'd like him to say :::I hope DONEGAL go all the way and win the final.
But I don't want him to talk the rubbish he spoke after the Monaghan game.

I see he's at it again... how many comments have we heard from Jim Gavin before the game?

In fairness, Gavin wouldn't exactly set the world alight with his views on the game - he's not a very excitable man in media circles, I would say they probably don't even bother trying to get anything out of him anymore.

McGuinness likes to play the media, the media like to play him. Obviously his soundbites are going to make the news. It's just his style.

No Doubt JMG will have something to complain about after the game anyway...

I think Kevin Cassidy needs to be reigned in.

We all know he dislikes Jim McGuinness, and is extremely bitter over getting kicked off the Donegal panel in 2011.

His ego was badly bruised, as until that moment he was too good to be dropped long term by any Donegal manager. It's time to let go Kevin, you messed up, had the chance to redeem yourself and let it slip out of pride. It's pointless trying to slate Jimmy McGuinness now, as the man is a living legend over in the hills.

He who brought a Div 2 title, 3 x Ulster titles and a All Ireland title in 4 years....and the 4th year ain't over just yet. Best leave it for a while Kevin, and try and be fair when talking about your home county on radio or in the press.

Ahh would ye give over with your oul nonsense. Nobody whatsoever has questioned right to freedom of speech. Some people just don't like how he plays the media and they are free to make that point. If you read back over the posts the only people who are talking about 'reigning people in' are JMG supporters. Ulsterman we are entitled to express an opinion . By the way, the Emperors new clothes are real, as you will discover on Sunday.

Maybe he was asked specific questions about Dublin, and he gave honest answers. I dont think he was knocking on journalists last weekend.

In any event, it is small, small scale stuff to be getting worried about.
