Young Footballer of the Year Predictions

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Any predictions who will win it this year? Presume Jack McCaffrey or young Costello should be favourites should the Dubs win it out. Ryan McHugh and MacNiollas have also impressed for Donegal though. Don's see many other contenders at this stage

Should Donegal get there, Patrick McBrearty & Darragh O'Connor will make an impression.

He won't win it but Aaron Findon Armagh midfielder is worth a mention. He stood out as minor against us three years ago i'm not surprised he has stepped up to senior level.

I think the outstanding young footballer has been Colin O'Riordan of Tipp. Playing football of the highest quality and putting up great scoring tallies aswell from wing back. He won't come within a sniff of it though unfortunately. 33/1 with PP...:(

Im gonna say Odhran MacNaillis!! quality young player and to be a intercounty midfielder at 20 takes alot of doing!!! especially in Donegal the way they play....

Id say its a straight duel between Odhan and young Costello

Can't believe he is only 20. Has a big future ahead of him.

If Odhran McNiallis plays well in the semi final he will get the award.

Shane Walsh has a chance as well.

You can't give it to any of Dublins players as McCaffrey hasn't started a lot of their games and neither has Costello so unless they start and play well in the rest of their championship matches they shouldn't win the award.

Surely Jack McCaffrey hasn't played enough this year to warrant a nomination for young player of the year. Twenty minutes off the bench here and there in the championship won't win him that award.

I think MacNaillis will get it.
For a 20yr to play as he has done this year in the very tough midfield position is very commendable...
Some prospect.

I've been really impressed with Odhrán Mac Niallas.

Looks like he has the makings of a superstar.
