Kilkenny V Limerick

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

On a completely separate note this Limerick team was unrecognisable from the team which capitulated against Clare last year. I said to Galway fans at the 2012 AIF that if Kk weren't playing I'd sincerely hope they'd win it. I now say the very same thing for Limerick-a proud hurling county. Today's experience will stand to them just like the '98 and '99 defeats did to my home county. It's no longer a case of if but when a Shannonsider makes a speech from the Hogan Stand!

Thought the ref had a great game under the circumstance - yes, you should have given a second yellow for the professional foul but as it was so late on it was never really going to have an impact on the result

Limerick were excellent, as were Kilkenny. The Cats subs had a big say in the result. Added freshness to the attack which proved vital.

I am not the one that brought Tommy Walsh's name up. It was a Kilkenny man. I did not deny that Donal O'Grady foul was cyncical. I did not come on here and take the moral high ground against Limerick after beating them in All - ireland semi-final. I would not do that.

As for naming times and dates, well I will withdraw those remarks as I cannot be bothered trawling through hours of video to get the exact dates and times. Let us just forget that they happened and pretend that Kilkenney are holier than thou and give Kilkenny posters on here the free reign to display moral outrage on other team's misgivings while ignoring their own.

It was no picnic today for Kilkenny. Well done to both teams especially Limerick as they are proving to be a top team. They dominated the game today. Kilkenny needed the goals to win. Its a pitty Limerick are not in division 1 in the league. Going by todays performance they should be promoted next year.

I dont understand why the ref did not send off OGrady.(AMAZING) Earlier on in the year they were sending off players for fun. Now have they changed the rules again and rugby takles with the hurley are allowed. Refeering this year is totally inconsistent.

Limerick have progressed this year and well done to them.

I respect this KK team even more after today's game, they won this game by parking all the skill they have on the sideline and went back to pure basic stuff of huge work rate, hooking, blocking and hunting in packs. How anyone can question this great team is beyond me. Richie Power was unreal when he came on, on a dry day I felt KK would of won with a bit to spare just look at there wide counts today.

As for Limerick they need to build on this now I said at start of year Limerick needed to win another Munster this year, they failed to do this and that was disappointing as they may of ended up in the all Ireland final avoiding KK. If Hickey doesn't get an all star after this year it will be a joke. Limerick need to start scoring goals to win an all Ireland.

That was a cracking game. A tougher physical contest you couldn't ask for. Great respect for both teams for the effort put in. Disappointed Limerick fell a bit short in the end. Inabilty to get a goal was a problem. A lot of positives to take away from 2014, and a lot of optimism for next year.

How noble of you!

Your initial post after beating them in an All-Ireland semi-final is to point out how cynical their play was and now you patronise them.

Thanks to all supporters from other counties who have commented on Limericks brave but unsuccessful effort and thanks to the lads for magnificant effort

Very exciting game, huge intensity and commitment shown by both teams. I know the conditions were bad, but there were a lot of bad widest, particularly by Kilkenny in the first half. Interesting that Kilkenny seemed to adopt a Donegal style of play in the final twenty minutes. Blanket defending, hurling style?

Plse plse ignore tobraid arainn. He either stirring or knows nothing about hurling. Either way he doesn't deserve any time.

Also can those who predicted a 10 pt defeat for lk low come on and accept that they were well off the mark n insulting.

I dont know what to say, i for one have no qualms on the outcome, Limerick did not win, kilkenny did and best of luck to them! That game today was so close it was on the tightest margins that the game was one. i personally thought we had the beatings of them and should of won. It was a cynical foul by o grady at the end no doubt and should of been red. Im honest! Now can someone be honest back and agree that jj delaney holding of the helmet when (i think it was dowling) in first half was just as cynical? We where in on goal one on one..it was no more or less a disgrace, yet ref didnt even card him..
