Donegal -v- Armagh

Yes an interesting game, Armagh won't go home without a good honest effort, I think McGeeney has seen to that. I think it will be close, Donegal's experience should swing it just about but I won't write off this particular Armagh side.

This will be a very close game. Armagh are the most improved side in the country and are getting stronger game by game and their self belief is growing as they are winning. McGeeney has instilled confidence in them and they look fitter and more toned up than ever before. At times the Meath boys bounced off them and they are more disciplined in their line up. Donegal are far better than last year and have shaken their sluggishness off but they still miss young McHugh who cleaned up a lot of ball at the back and set a lot of their attacks up. Maybe Donegal by 2 or 3 but Armagh could win by the same margin. Give me these types of hard, tough, close games rather than the one way Dublin/Meath Leinster final and Cork/Kerry Munster final snorefests that just bore the head off you.

It's great to be supporting a team that is respected again!! We have come along way this summer but Donegal will be the toughest obstacle yet. It will tell us alot on where we stand in the country and whether we are competitive near the top level. It will be hard fought and Donegal will probably win but really looking forward to it.

all the best to Jim and the boy s against Armagh, well done to Donegal minors, and Declan. Armagh wont be easy, and Donegal need to expect anything, and everything to happen, i feel we will just about get over the line.

No-one will force you to watch it ballboy. There's a buzz about this Armagh team that been missing for a long time. Can't wait for it to start. Good luck to Donegal and no matter the result this has been a great year.

Had Brian Mallon made many other appearances in the Championship this year for Armagh?. Made a big impact. Didn't know he was still on the Armagh panel.

I don't know what my opinion is to do with Meath?

This is Armagh and Donegal, and yes it will be difficult to watch, but I feel Donegal have the better fire power.Armagh work very hard and to a system that seems comfortable for them,so do Donegal. But Donegal were champions two years ago and are playing generally close to that standard this year, surely a step too far for Armagh? Donegals players will be a bit fresher too.

That was his first appearance. He didn't play that much during the league either if memory serves me right, usually played from the bench if at all. I was very pleased for him, put in a cracking shoulder as well, he is a great example for the other players coming through.

Ziggy - I found Meath's style of play disgusting in the 90s, prob the filthiest sides ever to grace football pitches , they were profoundly dangerous who systematically went out to hurt opponents ! Get over your loss and move on !

That sort of a statement shows how much you know about football..........On to the matter at hand I think Donegal will win but will have to fight for it and fight hard, this Armagh team have built up quite a head of steam and their belief and confidence is high as could be seen last Saturday when Meath did have them rattled for a short period either side of half time, one would think Armagn would not fear Donegal but still would be behind them in terms of strength and experience, Donegal by 2 or 3 in a low scoring affair.

You must still be licking your wounds after 2011/2012/2013 v Donegal It's time you started healing and the future is bright :::::creameries and gold and green
Still Armagh might give us something to think about and I'm sure they will but it's time we had one over them in Croker and I think it will be Sat night

He is missed but he has also been replaced perfectly by his brother, who is as good if you asked me. Will be a big big test on saturday, but I feel that if we play to our full potential, then we will scrape thru. if we dont, the converse is the case. I also think that armagh need to be consistent, and I wonder if they will be able to reproduce their last 3 performances again on saturday. time will tell.

I would be stunned if Armagh won the All-Ireland to be fair.Even if they got over Donegal, they would have to beat Dublin and then Kerry/Mayo to win it!

Can anyone remember if Donegal pushed players up against Monaghan not allowing them the short kickout? if they do this against us we could be in a spot of bother.

I was hoping Meath would do that against Armagh, but we never did.. Anyway Donegal did not do that especially against Monaghan..

Have Monaghan decided to give Dublin a bye or have I missed the game already?

To be honest, I'm nervous about this one. I'm more nervous about this that I was against Monaghan in Ulster Final. Armagh should have won the first game V Monaghan in Ulster. They are better than Monaghan in general with the exception of the goalkeeper and full back line. I simply don't rate Monaghan as a legitimate footballing team. The beat a poor Donegal last year, only beat Armagh because of home advantage and Kildare should have won had they had a left footed free taker.

However, Armagh, with the scores they're putting up against teams who are employing a blanket defense, it is very impressive. Armagh will be under no illusions as to how much Donegal feel they owe them for all the beatings they gave us in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. They'll also be aware how little they have to lose.

They're a dangerous beast and I am not going to call this.
