Meath v Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

i dont know much about this current kildare squad but one thing is for sure they have always had good attacking defenders and now with emmet bolton in corner back the potential for the entire defense to be bombing forward is there with exception of mick folley.
i fear this could be the difference as it has been against us in recent years particularly in the qualifier game in pairc tailteann a few years ago. for this game i would make one positional change swapping tobin and carrol we need tobins pace rather than carrol energy in defense.
tight game both teams to start well and meath to loose energy towards the end and kildare to finish strong so i think who ever is in the better position half time and the 45 minute mark to win the game . i think both teams have the potential to concede a lot so wouldnt be surprised to see some big scores be racked up

Best of luck to Meath and Kildare tomorrow.

Both teams of course hit with injuries and are not at full potential. Im sure most supporters will acknowledge that.

Also, each team has gone through transitions since the matches of 2011-12 so heres to a new era.

I hope its a good encounter

Now OK there is a massive difference between Tyrone and Waterford, but Louth were hammered out the gate by Tyrone as they were by Kildare, but Carlow turn around and beat Waterford. Perhaps both Kildare and Meath respective games are not to be read too much into. Why I say this is much has been said that Kildare's victory over Louth was more impressive, after today I'd have to ask was it?? Or is it a case that both played poor opposition and nothing should be taken from either win. For me this puts this right back as 50/50 game as it was always going to be..
Anyway best wishes to Kildare obviously I hope we beat you back to straffan . but safe journey to you all, when you look at what happened in Mullingar this morning, puts these things into perspective. Best wishes to all fans and players etc. May it be a great game.
Hon the Royal.

Best wishes royaldunne. You're right sport is certainly put in perspective by that terrible tragedy in Mullingar today.

Think we need to consider cause and effect there a bit as well RD. Louth got a hiding today sure but it came off the back of a previous one. Let's imagine we just squeezed by them then they're confidence coming into the game today would have been a lot different. Either way I wouldn't read too much into it.

Tomorrow marks yet another a new episode in the Kildare-Meath relationship. We won't know anything until 3.45pm tomorrow. May the best team win!

I don't think anyone in Kildare or Meath really knows how this will go(which is what makes it very interesting),still think Kildare will pinch it.BUT..

COME ON THE ROYALS! :D

Hteam same here. Stomach starting to go on spin cycle, but Looking forward to good open football from all teams.
And a safe journey to all traveling, keep her between the ditches lads and remember if delayed or running late it is only football, better to arrive late than never. As RD said the tragedy on the roads this week end puts it all into perspective. So a safe journey to all and lets enjoy a great day of football, craic and banter. Cill Dara Abú.

Must watch this great Kildare team today as I've tipped them to win Leinster. Don't know how I reached that conclusion but I think they will win handy enough today. Think they have a good manager and new players coming through so I predict a horrid time for Meath. Ant chance Kildare vDonegal quarter final , repeat of 2011. ????? Anyway Kildare fans don't forget Iv tipped you to win not alone today but the Leinster final. Best of luck

Lads no offence but Kildare and Meath together wouldn't beat Dublin , also the pick of Kerry and cork wouldn't beat Dublin. This is gona be one poor championship this year with 31 counties fighting for second place :-(

Meath deserved that goal before half time. A few other opportunities left behind.

Once again Kildare disappoint, very impressed with Meath, didn't see that type of performance coming so hats off there. Huge amount for Kildare to do, and if they pull it off it'll be a major plus for them but in fairness to Meath, they deserve their lead!

Missed chances hopefully don't come back to haunt us. We should be out of sight by now. Bray standing up well, tormey doing what I expected, biggy seems to be unfit. We missing some important players. Just have a nervous feeling that we could throw this away. I pray I'm wrong. Keep scoreboard ticking.

Told you all Meath would win.

Kildare are muck. 12 pts behind already.
You could see in game v Louth that they were no great shakes.

Terrible game and there is no atmosphere horrible place croke park when it half full. Both teams are poor however Kildare are brutal. Cant see either teams doing anything this year. either one would be good to get in the back door for provinical loosers

Kildare showing a bit of momentum now but I think they are too far behind, Had a feeling Meath would win this while looking at the lineups, Bray had a good first half

Kildare's shooting is horrendous, nothing short of it.

Wins a win but you have to wonder where Meath were for the last 15 mins, Kildare's shooting cost them in the end!
