Clare v Cork

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

So Richie Clare aren't completely useless then haha

Clare topped the 1A League Table. Lost only to Dublin and Tipp. But also beat Tipp, yes we lost to Cork, but if I'm perfectly honest even I would have predicted that result. When you look at all te variables Cork were always looking good to win that.

You're right it can and it will change in the next month or so.

i agree Bannerboy

it will change clare could get an up for it wexford and be gone in the first qualifer
galway could catch kilkenny
limerick could beat cork in the pairc

I generally dont take league games in to account when discussing championship

i mean the clare kilkenny game in the league was aweful shite

i base it on championship outings because in a championship outing the manager has his best team on the field no one is trying anything or trying new players its the white heat of championship. The flip side of this is if you asked 3 weeks ago and based on the matches to date clare would still have been favoutites and waterford would have been ahead of cork.

We dont know how clare will adapt and change but based solely on last sunday and only last sunday i believe kk cork limerick and dublin would have beaten clare LAST SUNDAY

i cant make predictions on how clare will do in the future in the the same way you cant predict how cork will do. They might get trashed in the MF and whimper out in the AI QF/
The great thing at the moment in hurling is the gaps arent as big as they once were take my list of six add waterford and tipperary and wexford any of these teams could have a shout for liam .

I hope clare do well i hope they come back and i also hope we beat them thats the nature of the game.

Davy is trying to lay the blame for sunday on everyone elses door. It like he is saying cork were the better team *terms and conditions apply
Cork hurled clare off the park for 60 of the 70 mins. Two absolutely disgraceful goals made the score line look alot more favourable to clare than the match was. If the fouling wasnt so high or so consistent i feel cork forwards could really have opened up on clare and i fancy the cork forwards to grow as the season goes on.

But it would be nice if clare and davy could just acknowledge that the were played off the park acknowledge corks achievements and go back to training to put things right.
Instead they wanted the gaa to launch an enquiry !Its all the refs fault 16-12 the free count and lets face it clare fouled alot more than that. The dual stars are wrong (cork had three) Everything was wrong everyone is against them its had nothing to do with clare ????

When Limerick got a high free count against tipp Eamon o shea took it and got on with it. Why can clare do the same ???

Decent post Richie.....Davy DID acknowledge that Cork played us off the park........"fair play to Cork, we were cleaned at midfield and we were beaten by the better team" that's exactly what he said and ALL Clare posters on here have acknowledged that exact same thing.

As for the referee it was an appalling display from him and it should be analysed so he can improve. I see no harm in that, what's the problem in being accountable for your performance??? Players and managers are!!!! He was awful.

I disagree, if we had met someone else bar a pumped up Cork with the momentum of the two Waterford games behind them, it might have been different, you're allowed your opinion but I don't share that view. Which is fair enough.

You're right we could be gone in the next game and you could be gone in two matches. Who knows? We will see. I am not writing anyone off. All i know is we lost one game against Cork, doesn't mean we are finished.....also agree with you on the league too, it's all about championship preparation. We were poor on Sunday and as far as I can see onwards and upwards. We have a few things i am sure we can address now in the qualifiers.....The All Ireland is a different competition.

From what I can see Ritchie u and I are almost in agreement.

What's more if u read Davys article printed on here on Monday he too is saying near enough the same in relation to energy levels and " a lot being taken out of players"
