Clare v Cork

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

How do Cork consistently get all the calls by the refs it's unbelievable at this stage, Cork forward wins possession is surrounded by Clare players it's a free in when it happens the other end it's a free out for over carrying by Clare, Corks 9th and 10th point were never frees, and just as I'm posting Cork get a goal that was never a free.

Luckily your not a referee then. Although the free given for Harnedy i did not think that was a free but if he only gets one call wrong i a half then he doing well.

Because Clare are fouling as per usual. Their corner back Jack Brown should be off for flaking Cadogan more than once.

The 11 for Cork runs straight into Clare player the ref gives a free in ha the Clare keeper did the same first half and gives Cork a free in, good consistency ref.

Unbeliveable performance, pat horgan is sheer class early days but feel the new players that have come in this year have made us a serious force, also there ends the nash debate, jbm has put the pride back in our county really great day

I feel the win was more comprehensive than the 5 point winning margin sugests.Cork have tightened up at the back.Aidan Walsh is a colossus in the air.Great strength and turn of speed to break the tackle and create an overlap.Clares forwards were suffocated and the wide open spaces they enjoyed in last years All Ireland finals were absent.Cork definately learned from that defeat and will be very difficult to beat in the Munster final. However i still see Kilkenny as All Ireland favourites.Cody was taking it all in,no doubt plotting the downfall of both of todays teams later on in the year.

Good game to watch. Very good result for Cork. Clare will feel they should improve through the back door and they will. Cork will also feel there is room for improvement as the two goals they conceded were very poor from a goalkeeping point of view. They still looked a bit panicky at times when the ball comes into the full back line. Harmedy, Cooper and Lehane had quiet games. There won't be much between these teams if they meet later in the year.

Have to have a little crib at Davey after the match. Can he not show any bit of class or graciousness whether you win lose or draw. He should take note from the the other managers at his level. His antics has to have a negative effect on his team eventually. Refs will lose patience with him and the Gaa public will turn on Clare. It happened to Lougnane in the late 90's and it cost Clare at least one more all-Ireland at that time.

Thou shall not be awarded more frees than Cork must be a GAA commandment.I thought the ref was hard on Clare. Having said that I thought Clare were poor and surrendered rather meekly.Regardless of the ref the better team won and will go on to be serious contenders now.

Condorman, I agree entirely with your assessment!!

Lads Davy is Davy and make no mistake about it, overall (and once again) the ref was harsh on Clare!! That being said, he made no difference to the result IMO! Having said that, in the last 3 games we played against cork the ref has done us and as a manager your will feel aggrieved!!

Anyway, congrats cork!! Best of luck in the final!

By the way. Fair play to Aidan Walsh, I didn't think he was up to it pre game but I was wrong!

Dragon,

Get out of it, no doubt what Browne gave he got back or got first just as hard.

Referee was harsh on Clare. Clare tackle on the real edge of the rules and depending on the referees they can pay the price.
