Becoming an epidemic at the moment. The black card isn't helping matters either.

have watched Tyrone 3/4 times this year. Sean Cavanagh is the worse culprit for diving and grabs opposition player arm and drags them down.

Have to agree, no amount of black cards is going to cure the level of cynical play its endemic in some players and other than retrospective bans its not going to be stamped out.

It's everywhere at the moment even last nite in the hurling the Dublin full forward jumped to the ground to win a free. It is sad but that's just way it's going.

If anything the black card encourages it...

No county immune from criticism. What can be done has nothing to do with watching other sport, and more to do with the way that refereeing is going. I think that diving will be weeded out next year the same way that cynical fouling is going to be with the black card this year.

Agreed. What a waste of a decent player. Sad that he has to resort to this but Tyrone have been employing arm clamping tactics for some time. Should be an instant black card IMO. A blight on the game.

With regards to Cavanagh, Dessie Mone caught him high around the neck, definite foul. Darren Hughes fouled Cavanagh initially no doubt although Cavangh did pull him down. Vinny Corey had a couple of goes at it today as well, half breaking a tackle and then going down. The black card in my view encourages this type of behaviour and the interpretation of it by the ref today was disgraceful. He gave 3 today, 2 incorrectly (McCurry and Hughes) and one he didn't give with Cavanagh who should have got one.

Don't think this should turn into Tyrone or Sean Cavanaugh bashing. We are all it and its not nice to see. There is a log of column inches giving to cynicism. Nothing worse than diving IMO. Something should be done about this, but what can you done?

Lets just ban Tyrone full stop and the rest of you purists can just move on, surely the game can only benefit from watching the sainted Donegal and the holier than thou Dublin take Gaelic football to new heights.

Listen it's not just Tyrone every county has players diving and something needs to be done I can't believe it's in our game I hate it so much.

I think it's unfair to single out Tyrone. In this match Monaghan were far far more guilty of cynicism. After Monaghan scored the goal with 20 minutes to go they were continually wasting time pretending to be injured. Monaghan players especially Clerkin and Mone dived to get frees and slow the game down. There were even moments when the ref saw that they were dives and he waved play on, I think a free should be awarded against the offending player and a yellow card given. When Colm Cooper tucks the arm it is 'cute' and Brolly was no stranger to that tactic either.

shame they cant cite a player after a game... if video evidence proves a player took a dive..ban him for next game, its one idea of weeding out the cheats..

About 5/6 instances of it in Roscommon v Mayo last week.
The Mayo lads got their frees, the Roscommon man was pulled up for it

If it was up to Ulster counties, the football would be dead on its feet. Didn't watch it but heard that Tyrone msde show of themselves after whistle.

Be interesting to see viewing figures. Would rather have eyes poked out with rusty spoon than watch Ulster rugby league.
