Dublin v Laois

Dublin never looked like been beat tbh. Laois threw everything at them but dubs hardly got out of second gear.

Who was the fella on the radio with Brian Carthey? near the end of the game he something to the effect of 'Laois will be happy with their performance'......they lost by 11 points!!! it's nonsense anyway, no team should be happy with a defeat, it breeds failure and nothing more.

Dublin won and they'll be happy with that, feel a bit for Laois didn't think their efforts, intentions and workrate deserved an 11 point defeat but there you are, they hadn't enough on the bench to sustain being competitive with Dublin although they can draw positives heading into the qualifiers. Dublin, as they usually are, were impressive 2nd half but Jim Gavin will highlight a few things to them going forward, Wexford are not near as competitive or good as Laois and I would expect the yellow bellies are in for a torrid time the next day out

Disappointing 1st half. Midfield was all over the place, Stevos kickouts were sloppy and our forward line was up to nothing other than Paddy Andrews. That said, we could have had 4 or 5 goals in the first half alone with a bit of luck. I always felt comfortable that we'd pull away though, the subs all did very well. Hard luck to Laois who put up a great fight and would have been in the game longer had they not gifted us the 2nd goal.

Ok here's a bit of balance to disappoint you, Dublin genuinely deserved the win, they never got out of 2nd gear in the first half and should have put the game to bed in the first 20mins with 3 great goal chances only to get unlucky and the Laois keeper had a very good game aswell.

Second half went as expected, Dublin upped it from 2nd to 3th gear, Laois then instantly threw in the towel and it was never a contest after the 40 min mark. No sarcasm, that's how I saw the game go and Dublin were well worth their 11 point win, well done.

Laois were very very good today..

They didnt really put a foot wrong all day. Dublin are just a far better side.

Teams will fear Laois in the qualifiers and rightfully so

The ten point margain is a poor reflection. I felt the same when meath lost by 7 last year having been in front on the 61st minute.

Bad:

Sloppy passing
Wasted opportunities
Midfield cleaned out
Brogans ham string injury

Good:
We won by 11 points

It's not really a poor reflection, we deserved the big win because we put the scores on the board, simple and as I said, credit Laois for a brave skilful display!

Laois played v well today. Munnelly showed his class. Great display.

Dubs were poor enough at times but did the job and came out 11 point winners. Can't complain.

That was a decent game of football, Laois gave everything and scored some nice points, we tagged on a few points at the end to make the score look worse than the game actually was from a Laois perspective, We played well in parts and we were very poor with our passing in others .
After Kildares big win today it will be hard to stop them.

Laois were missing 8 of the team that started two years ago. Considering that we gave a good display. Dublin will destroy everyone in Leinster

Very enjoyable game which Laois contributed to hugely.

Dublin really are a Jekyll & Hyde team in that they are possibly the best team we have ever seen going forward & yet are very open & porous at the back. I am not sure whether this is because Jim Gavin just doesn't do defence or if it's because Dubln just don't have the players to do the job but the number of times Laois got at them is the sort of thing that would give JMcG nightmares.

However any deficincies at the back are more than made up for in watching them attack, they are magnificent in full flow & a joy to watch.
The old bus will have to be in tip top condition if we meet!!

How many times did Dublin hit the post, Crossbar or go for goal when they should have taken a point?? 1st Game for them and they won by 11 and could have been a lot more. Laois Done very Well and have got a Decent Draw in the qualifiers for they will get a few more games at least.

Certainly not begrudgery. I have quite a grá for the Dubs these days due to the open brand of football that they play. I literally typed as I saw it happen, where it looked like the goal should not have stood. Dublin were full value for the win of course, but the second goal came at a key time when there was only 2-3 points in it. Who's to say the floodgates would have opened right there and then had it not occurred?

Simply called it as I saw it, as it happened. If that makes me a begrudger...

Good man bob dolphin well spotted, bob did you see paddy Andrews getting a two handed slap to the face and then getting booked haha? It's was in a similar position to where Flynn took the line ball, funny how no one has mention that but Kev Mac over carrying and MDMA cynical fouling is all the rage , my god we play the game the way it's suppose to be played and posters are still slatted us you just can't win on here. Well done to Laois Munnelly was class and Kingston was very good aswell, muck we've two on two back there any inter county forward worth there salt with that amount of space will do damage. Leinster football is still the most enjoyable football to watch

Muck,

How many times did Laois force Cluxton to make a save ? If anything I thought we tightened up considerably from our porous performances in the league.

The second half of this game had just started by the time I got home from Roscommon. It was inevitable that Dublin would pull away in the end. Loais did put up a good fight though. Ross Munnelly....how we could do with a player like him in Mayo, class act.
