Does anyone remember 2008; there was a team with 'twin towers' that the media said couldn't be beat!
Well; correct me if Im wrong but, from what I remember... they got... well, they got beat! The AI is no foregone conclusion lads and ladies! ;)

well...two weeks into the championship and there has been some adjusting to the top ten already though things do look a bit predictable;
1. Dublin 2. Cork 3. Mayo 4. Tyrone 5. Kerry 6. Donegal 7. Derry 8. Monaghan 9. Kildare 10. Down
of these Dublin is on their own at the moment as likely champions, with cork, mayo, kerry and tyrone waiting to pounce. potential dark horses are donegal, derry monaghan and kildare

I think Monaghan will possibly make the quarterfinals. But they wont beat Tyrone. Tyrone will win Ulster beating Donegal in the final.

Gatekeeper, no harm to u, use must suffer from bad amnesia in Tyrone. Forgotten already that Down missed a sitter of a free and it took Sean Cavanagh's mastery of the dark arts to for Tyrone to get a second chance in the first place??
A bit like Tyrone forgetting about over 100 years of GAA history prior to 2003?? Are the doctors in Tyrone not doing anything to help this amnesia??

No Gatekeeper ur still not grasping it so here are some facts to help you.It is not your fault-the Tyrone psyche doesnt let people grasp events that took place in GAA history prior to 2003.
While Tyrone have 3 All Irelands,Down have 5.All won playing some brilliant attacking football, not the ugly, cynical stuff played by Tyrone. You see Tyrone could not play the beautiful game the way Down could so they devised systems/tactics to stop other teams playing. Note the 7/8 Tyrone players bashing O Se to a pulp in 2003 semi final. Now Tyrone won them all Irelands and they were champions but historians will not be as kind to them as they were to great Down teams because of their style of play "puke football" you know that term.
So while Down's fortunes nose dived when"puke football" was invented Tyrone excelled. But alas 5 all irelands is better than 3.
Down fans are also better than Tyrones. Now I know that Tyrone fans support their team wholeheartedly- but to see the difference in the fans we look at the way they treated the masters of gaelic football-Kerry. Down are 5-0 against Kerry in the Championship and a lot of our best days have come against them, but after our victories against them, playing wonderful football, we always showed them total respect due to their greatness.
Contrast that to the way Tyrone treated them after battering them into submission in the last decade.
Glad to help you grasp GAA history Gatekeeper, happy to help and good luck to you!!

Lets all bow at the feet of Kerry! Get a grip man!
Puke football was a term invented by a bitter little Kerry man; after watching his team blown away by the mighty red-hand! And Tyrone won what is widely regarded as one of the best AI finals in 2005. I urge to watch that game and then come slabberin about puke football! Puke football LOL!
The Down lovein with Kerry is laughable, and typical of the nostalgic, "amnesiac" nonsense of those who continue to live in the past! If only the 'ancient' Down AI wins were put under as much scrutiny as modern games; it would be obvious for all to see, that... well... they just weren't as pure, clean and great as they would like us to think!
Tyrone 3-11 Down 0-12 Enjoy the short summer! ;)

No you have to accept defeat-its a part of the game-every teams loses.
The missed free stings though.O'Hare would get that 98/99 out of a hundred thats the unfortunate.Tyrone deserved to win the second game-but Down showed more skill in the first game and had the game in their grasp thats what hurts.

Any word on the injury to Tyrone's Ciaran Clarke?
I hear on the radio that he picked it up in a club match which will add more fuel to the fire of the club v county debate.
I hope it's not too bad, he is a fine player & would be a big loss to Tyrone.

The funny thing about this stuff you're writing about Down and Kerry is that the likes of Micko whinged about Down's spoiling tactics.
Some things never change!

I hate to say it but the football championship now starts in august for all teams except those from Ulster. Radical reform required. Would be nice to see a few shocks. If I bet on a gaa accumulator that might guarantee it! :)
