Monaghan vs Tyrone

Was impressed with monaghan today, tyrone having played 2 matches already would have an advantage and you wouldnt have seen it 2day.Defensively they were superb in the tackle and turnovers also, they can improve also with more to come from Mc Manus. They got the never beaten tyrone hoodoo stopped which will help.

On the run of play for the game Monaghan just about deserved their victory so well done Monaghan and good luck in the rest of championship. Monaghan guilty of time wasting and deliberately fouling to slow things down near the end and Mickey Harte was right to remonstrate with ref, there were so many stoppages at Monaghans behest that there simply had to be more time added.

At least 4 if not 5 minutes ruling out stoppages in injury time itself.
Big inconsistency in refereeing games. It needs to be looked at as urgently as the black card thing. ie a hooter at the end of the game or something. In a game so close as the one in clones today, there should be no team leaving the pitch feeling short changed by the ref, by time wasting, or the like. The ref had a good game other than keeping time imo.

The refereeing of this game was an absolute joke. A penalty for nothing. Our best player sent off for nothing. There should have been 7 minutes of injury time. At the end the ref gives a hop ball and when Tyrone win it he blows up immediately for full time.

Watch the upcoming draws. Tyrone WILL get the losers of the Ulster Final in last 12 and WILL play either Dublin or Ulster winners in last 8.

Starting to think this Monaghan team will be very difficult to beat this year. Very tough blanket defence yo break and some quality up front. They will be looking further than an Ulster this year!!

well done Monaghan, hard luck Tyrone, Monaghan just got over the line, missed easy goals, Connor Mc Manus, i believe won it for Monaghan, without him ???????????????, i though Monaghan wasted a lot of time, they panicked when they were in the lead, i felt more time should have been played at the end, fair play to Tyrone for comming back, but this was not to be their day,Armagh will be waiting in the long grass for Monaghan, that will be some game,Tyrone will still be playing football in August, will the other Ulster teams,??????????????????????hopefully.

Ah lads , only for the ref Monaghan would have won with ease.
he was very inconsistant for both sides but when Monaghan went 5 up he gave Tyrone everything.
Afterwards most Tyrone fans agreed that the best team won.

Monaghan by far the better side today, we were absolutely clueless and are nowhere near good enough. Big reality check! Dongela v monaghan will be a tight final!

As for tyrone i think we need a new fresh approach never said it before but maybes the time is up for mickey! We looked clueless and rudderless. Our forwards are nowhere near the level each of them seem to think they are at

Best team won on the day, no question about that, and the referee was not the reason Tyrone lost. Tyrone are toothless up front, their inside forward line wouldn't trouble most teams, and they are weak at the back. Those problems have been there for a while now.

As for Monaghan, well they're on course to win back to back Ulsters, as I can't see Donegal stopping them. Beyond that, they could well make a semi-final.

There is no question the best team won and the scoreline flattered us somewhat. Not sure where we go from here,is there really an appetite fora long drawn out run through the qualifiers, I'm not so sure. Anyway hope monaghan can retain the Anglo Celt and have a decent go at the AI.

Already the Monaghan-Donegal final talk starts, our dear neighbours will be loving that. I trust O'Rourke will be guarding the team against any sort of complacency, because though we may be favourites for the semi, Armagh will be gunning for us and would love nothing more than to bring us back down to earth.

Monaghan got completely ripped off by the ref, injury time etc. in Omagh in 2011. Karma :)

I dont think the score line flattered us yes the Monaghan had the best goal chances only managed 1 from 4 possible 5 tyrone had None but we kicked to many wides and kicked our self's out of it, Morgan wasn't at the races today thought he was on edge through out and as much as I LoVE son HIS BEST DAYS LONG BEHIND HIM !!!

Yeah they will. But you're a much better team than Armagh.

As a fellow county man of Eddie kinsella I thought it was an extremely difficult game to referee. Especially with the feigning injury and simulation from both teams

Here lads you got to remember tyrone having have been doing the same thing to teams for over
a decade , they did it to Monaghan in last years Q/F to see out the game so dont be complaining
when the shoe is on the other foot. And in fairness dublin mayo donegal and kerry have all it in
the past least we forget, so games over grow a new pair and get ready for the next game.

Well Done to the lads today, great performance and at last we have gotten the monkey off our backs, hard luck to Tyrone , never gave up and brought the game to us ,I would have liked to have seen McCarron getting a run or even Owen Duffy, I am sure he's been training hard

McManus wasn't his usual self but I was not expecting him to be, his free's were important, Dermot Malone is underrated in my opinion, always puts in a lot of work , the defence was great again, the two Wylies were great but Fintan Kelly was my man of the match, great at going forward, did very little wrong and got up for two points,

well played Monaghan. Tyrone were not at the races today. that Horse Devlin appears to be running the show. S ON was starved of ball today. In the warm ups he was immense. Malachy O Rourke will learn a lot from today an its great for us. I think Mickie Harte either needs to take back the reins or walk away. We will have to keep v focused to win Ulster. Apart from getting the monkey off the back its not something to get carried away about. Tyrone are only a shadow of their famous team.
