Just a pity the best 2 teams in Ulster have to meet so early on.would have made a cracking final.

Haha bladecx, good man.

I told JMcG what you said, he wasn't a bit pleased.

Will give you one thing gatekeeper least you are saying what you are thinking and probably most Tyrone fans as well. Don't think we showed up in croke park last year but still only lost by two points. This Tyrone side to me while still having some great players is there to be got at especially in defence and look more vulnerable than any have seen under Mickey Harte. They need the McMahons back alongside Gormley to tighten them up. Whether they beat us or not don't think they will be returning to the days of winning all Irelands anytime soon. Yes we blew a glorious chance last August to put one over them but this Sunday is another one at a ground we have not lost at in a few years and I think we will take it.

There is a calm coming from the Monaghan camp, this was the game everyone in Monaghan wanted since last August..........

Players are ready, they know they left it behind them last year and are ready to put it right with a serious performance.

Don't leave it behind this time and even Monaghan have not lost in Clones for a while now ye are playing tricky boys and I think they will beat ye. And if Antrim beat us then The two top teams in Ulster for 2014 would be Antrim/Tyrone.

This reminds me exactly of 2007 and 2010 when Monaghan were coming into the Ulster Final, all the talk was that they were going to beat Tyrone and how their team was so strong. We know how those games ended.

This game for me will have a massive bearing on how Monaghan perform in this years championship. Now if they win and go on to retain Ulster , were yo get to the semi final (AI) then I could fancy them to shake up Dublin.
But to get beat on Sunday and play a back door game six days after , I think it would put a massive strain on them. To really progress Monaghan need to retain Ulster but that's easier said than done. I would not fancy Tyrone for the All Ireland this year, to do it they will be taking a long and hard road. If they were to win Uldter they will at least have played five games plus three more at least so a big ask.

For an Ulster Champ game I am actually looking forward to this one.
It should have all the usual intensity of an Ulster Champ game but with both teams willing to play good football too.
Not expecting champagne football but a game where I would not be considering switching the channel for which I have done so far for the Donegal/Derry & Mayo/Roscommon games

Look this is too difficult to call and anybody who thinks they are able to predict the result is talking nonsense.

I personally think that this game will be won from the line. It will be Malachy O'R v Mickey H

This result might be a bit of a mute point anyway, Donegal will beat both teams in an Ulster Final (No offence Armagh).

Tyrone's 2 games against Down have them battle-hardened for this one.
Are Monaghan ready for what Tyrone bring to the table?! Probably not,
this is no 'tired' Donegal team, this is Tir Eoghain.
Tir Eoghain abu

SamOnErrigal no I would not be the biggest fan of Donegal's style but that doesnt mean they cant be attractive and good to watch when they come out and play good football!
But that is for another conversation another time....I did also mention mayo/roscommon was crap to watch too so it would not be just Donegal!!

with the 2 Hughes now fit an Mc Manus back I cant see how Tyrone could win this. it took them 2 days to bate Down an them not half the team Monaghan is.
-----------------------------------
Down are certainly more than half the team that Monaghan is. It took Tyrone 2 goes to beat Down in 2003 and it turned out to be our best year in history so I wouldn't read too much into things like that. Tyrone to win on Sunday. Total faith.

What was all the talk about Monaghan in 2007? We were massive underdogs that day and were never expected to win. Granted, you may be right about 2010. Anyway while these records teams have against each other may look interesting I'm not sure just how relevant they are. Tyrone had much better teams in 2007 and 2010 than they do now, and I think Monaghan are better than they were then also. Still, it's all on the day.

SamonErrigal, whoever loses this game isn't out 6 days later, they have two weeks of a break with this new A and B qualifier system.

Don't think the Tyrone backs are up to much this weather bit different than 2003

Apart from a few triumphalists on here, not many level headed posters are predicting it one way or the other. I'm not even speaking as a neutral and I admit it could go either way... Saying that this is Monaghans best chance to take ye isn't stretching it either. It
still doesn't mean we will

Just reading about Conor mcmanus' country wide trip to get fit for this match! These lads have such dedication to the jersey! Be great to see him getting a run on Sunday, if he's in any way fit.

This will be without a doubt the game that seperates the men from the boys on the monaghan team..... there is a calm in monaghan but i feel this could be the calm before the storm this game will show us whether monaghan are All Ireland contenders or not id like to say monaghan will win but it will definitely think it will be a hard fought match.... i also think alot of the people around monaghan have the sort of curse of mayo pyschology about them and they feel that monaghan wont win simply because they havent bet tyrone in a long time but that said the last time we won the ulster championship before last year was 1988 and the last time we bet tyrone was in 1988 so i think if monaghan are ever going to beat tyrone it will happen on sunday..... cant wait for the game and I will without a doubt have a sower throat from all the shouting.......
