I cant stand the use of "hon", as in " Hon the Rossies/mayo/etc" I think its mostly used by teenagers.

Miler this hon has been used in Meath since I was a teenager and trust me that's a long long time ago. Hardly anything new_ maybe in other counties but not in Meath. Where it is hon the Royal.
Not county name.
Anyway mayo should win this without breaking too much sweat.

Mayo go about their business under James Horan in an efficient manner and I expect another big year from them. The Rossie's give Tyrone plenty of trouble in last years back door and could go well there this year.

If teenagers of the day say hon, gwan, up de Rossies or whatever they like, it's great that they have some passion for our national games.

If the doomsdayer end of the media are to be believed all modern day teenagers are doing is surfing the net, eating junk food, drinking, drugs and participating in or being the victims if cyber bullying.

Any teenagers with an interest in sport, even better if they're participating, are to be commended.

I hope it is a close game, it would be great for the provincials if Ros got to the stage of being competitive with mayo. I can see it very soon, hopefully its today!

Perhaps they should be commended for that too Handy!

I remember when the Saturday night replacement for Sunday mass came in. A godsend! We'd time it to arrive about 5 minutes late, not late enough to miss the sermon, a glance around to make a mental note of the neighbours present and be sure to cough loudly and salute them so they recognise you there. Sermon over straight out to the pub. Enough answers for the parents interrogation of the events if Saturday night mass at the Sunday dinner. No tweeting or texting back then.

no I Said the Roscommon best 6 forwards above would make the Mayo team. I know Murtagh and Smith aren't starting Sunday. I maintain our forwards are better than Mayo athletes. Where did I talk about Dublin scene???

How are those north and south roscommon teams coming along handy?

Really poor game so far - both defences absolutely saturated with bodies, nobody posing a threat for Roscommon, and Mayo extremely wasteful from kickable opportunities. Roscommon are keeping it tight but their inability to manufacture good scoring opportunities will cost them, I'd imagine.

Quality very poor so far. If Mayo don't start putting over some of their numerous chances Roscommon could surprise them.

DOUR............. 500 passes before a ball kicked.......Roscommon take the "foot"out of football.. all handpasses....and wides..Roscommon get by half way and are clueless

Mayo have done nothing to suggest that they have too much for Roscommon. The Rossies have done absolutely less than nothing and they're only a point down. Game is well and truly on.

My god this is sore on the eyes... Mayos tactic is to slap and drag the ball out of roscommons hand then dive on the loose ball..

Is this what we have to watch for the rest of the summer??

0-4 to 0-3 at half time.

Lads play some football not nancy-slapping

Fair play to the referee. He is actually allowing players to tackle the ball which is in the rules but often blown up anyway.
