With this Mayo team anything can happen Had a big fancy for them at the beginning of the year to win Sam and they can still do it. But getting beat Sunday would not help them one bit and they could easily get beat in the back door. Whatever happens this year will be the make or break of this team SamOnErrigal (Donegal) - Posts: 1427 - 05/06/2014 20:49:52 1598848 Link 0 |

Mayo easy is jumping the gun a bit . The Rossies will give them nothing and although I expect Mayo to pull through I expect Roscommon to put it up to them for the first 50 mins or so . Mayo are under serious pressure ths year ,its now or never for a lot of these players .How can they possibly can desire to keep coming back from such deflation .Admirable yes ..but it can only take you so far .Mayo by 7 galwayhero (USA) - Posts: 36 - 06/06/2014 08:28:06 1598885 Link 0 |
Mayo win,but it won't be easy and that will be a good thing for Mayo. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 06/06/2014 09:18:52 1598906 Link 0 |
Ros have better forwards and are more economical with the passing game while Mayo will take midfield and the d. Mayo by 2 maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1237 - 06/06/2014 09:56:25 1598921 Link 0 |
HandyMoran, Im surprised you remembered this game was going on, although I suppose the club games are off in Dublin until September so you need something to fill the void... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 06/06/2014 09:57:41 1598922 Link 0 |
Don't know why but have a bad feeling for Mayo in this one. Roscommon to cause a shock. Kildare30 (Kildare) - Posts: 603 - 06/06/2014 10:08:01 1598929 Link 0 |
Will the pitch size have an affect? Hyde Park is nearly 2,000sq metres bigger than McHale Park and we've seen lads who do well on smaller pitches disappear on bigger pitches before. opa01 (Cavan) - Posts: 539 - 06/06/2014 10:26:51 1598937 Link 0 |
A lot depends on how we get on around midfield. Ros might try to bypass AOS but I think Mayo will be playing a lot of ball straight down the middle to use his strengths. I genuinely think Ros will give Mayo a better game than last year, but can't see anything but a Mayo win realistically. Hopefully Ros will stay within 4 or 5 points. decky (Roscommon) - Posts: 384 - 06/06/2014 10:35:16 1598943 Link 0 |
What teams have knocked Roscommon out of the All Ireland series in the last few years? That is the only time they've got to play division 1 teams. 2013 Tyrone valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1905 - 06/06/2014 11:01:53 1598953 Link 0 |

will be happy if we are competitive on Sunday will show we are going in the right direction, if we are to cause a shock we will need to bag a couple of goals and not concede any. Most of the players we have should have no fear of Mayo seeing as most of them have had quite a bit of success against them at underage level. Check all my previous posts Decky, I am just a realist, we are not in Mayo's class at present, we have very good forward divison but our defence and midfield aren't good enough for the top level, Seanie Mac the only proper defender we have in my opinion. Rhuson underage success isn't just measured by how many all Irelands are won. For example before 2008 we were very poor at u-21 level rarely winning a game and getting well beaten for the best part of a decade. Since then we have won 3 connacht u-21 titles and should have won another three (2008,2009,2013) in other words that is success but unfortunately for a county of our size and pick it won't last and the next step is to try and get a decent senior team out of all this underage talent. Sunday uphill task but we are work in progress and I'll be happy enough with a decent display against Mayo who will likely play in another all Ireland final this September The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4125 - 06/06/2014 13:58:50 1599052 Link 0 |
