Roscommon will be very respectful of Mayo,They have a been a source of inspiration to us over the last number of years.Their will be a mixture of awe and wonderment Just like their was with the great Galway two time All Ireland winning team of 98/2001.I would hope that the mayo players can hang around after to sign some autographs and pose for pictures with our young supporters.

all the Roscommon players will have to have the games of their lives on Sunday, just think Mayo have too much quality all over the field. Would have like to see Murtagh or Smith starting in the forwards, hopefully will be a free flowing high scoring game.

If Mayo are in the mood then it will be a slaughter of the innocents.

The only question is, are Mayo in the mood??

I remember last year Pat Spillane and Colm O'Rourke tipped Galway to beat Mayo in Salthill. Mayo's league form was indifferent and they were carrying a few injuries, there were serious questions over whether they had the stomach after losing the previous September. Galway were coming off the back of a great U21 year... It all sounds familiar...

Anyone remember what happened then?

looking forward to this. such be a good game. I think Roscommon will have a good summer regardless of the outcome of this game but I feel they wont be too far away from Mayo and if decisions go their way could cause an upset.

What do Mayo posters think of there forward line? To me it looks weak

Just saw the Mayo team and would give Roscommon a good chance in this game. The forward line of Mayo don't look that strong but I suppose JH has to try new blood as it was the forwards that were the weakest part of that Mayo team over the last two years. Hard to call but would be no great shock to see Roscommon win.

Very much giving youth it's fling with two effective debutants aren't they? What do Mayo posters think of McLoughlin at 13? He'll hardly play there will he? Don't think you can describe a forward line like that as "weak" though.

And come sunday evening, the same guys could well be talking about what a good player conor o'shea/D O'Connor is and how he could add something to mayo from last year, etc etc. Just because you never seen them before doesn't mean they are weak. They have shown the best in training and therefore start the game. I believe we will win, but I hope Roscommon do themselves justice in the qualifiers afterwards, they are an under rated team.

how can people say this is hard to call? Mayo have been operating at the top level for the past 3 years and are one of the few teams with a genuine chance of winning Sam. Roscommon have been very average, finally put together a decent league run this year, didn't blow any teams away. Its also been a long time since Roscommon beat a really top side, I think that was 2003 against a fancied Kildare side (I know many will say they weren't a top side). Think a lot of people on here love to have a go at Mayo, that they have no quality in the forwards that they are a declining team, and the only reason I think that is, is so they can wind up some of the Mayo posters here. I would say apart from the Dubs most of the posters on here would love to have a panel like Mayo's at their disposal.
All in all a win for Roscommon on Sunday would probably be the biggest shock of this years championship, to turn round a 12 point losing deficit from last year would be a major achievement.

Well considering Roscommon are somehow 12th in the hoganstand football rankings despite not playing a division 1 or 2 team this year, they certainly aren't underrated

Horan is dammed if he does, dammed if he doesen't Master. The same people calling for fresh blood in the forward line are now complaining. You can't win but that's the nature of intercounty football, everybody is an expert. I am glad to see them in there but it may be slightly tweaked.

Roundball, Mcloughlain will move out to the half forward line I reckon with Doherty moving in but that's just my guess.

Doubtful they will be hanging around, ie new york. Ross will be a seriously tough nut to crack this year, so the awe could be at your own team.

I would have said earlier mayo and roscommon have both strong teams for this real contest but now since keenan gone out of injury and kilbride replacing him i dnt think he should got a spot playing there i would have chosen darragh donnelly over kilbride i think . Mayo leaving out there captain Andy moran , Alan Freeman with Jason Gibbons(injured), Kevin Keane them players. I say andy moran could come one on de 45 - 55 minute i say of the game and diarmuid murtagh on at the 60th minute.

im sorry for saying this Even tough roscommmon have home advantage and mayo are up with the top team in 2nd with in front dublin. But i see mayo winning by 4 r 6 points. i dont see roscommon beating mayo without keenan and non of de u21 is it big ask that roscommon could beat mayo i doubt it very much.

Galway have a huge lift back when they face sligo with there captain back with a 7pm throw in.

It be a galway v mayo senior final with mayo v leitrim minors in the final.

But i dnt see roscommon wining,. and player of the match,. cillian r diarmuid o connor r aidan o shea.

I love to see roscommon winning but dont see it happening, but ill still wear my rossies jersey with pride and show my bf from cloontia on the mayo boader of ballaghadreen roscommon could shock mayo but all if fairness im supporting mayo 55% and roscommon 45% im sorri to say it but mayo have it i think.

But we will have to wait and see on sunday. I wish the game was at 3pm instead of 2pm its like the same time for 2011 miniors played at 12 but hurling instead this time and now seniors mayo v roscommon at 2pm. Its the same layout of the connacht championship 2009 .

But lets hope they would be shock if roscommon did it but slim hope i put it this way

come on mayo/rossies i cant see it happening

if Mayo showed that arrogance and believe maybe they might win something on the 3rd Sunday in September. I have feeling Roscommon might catch Mayo on the hop sunday.Mayo need a few tough games in the back door to have them ready for the August bank holiday

I had been fancying the Rossies for this game for a while but when you look at that Mayo side - from 1-9 they are a very very strong outfit. Could be one of the games of the championship though this one if the weather is decent.

Dont think so. Going in the back door only works for remarkably good teams. Galway in 01, kerry 3 times, and tyrone twice. The last 5 all irelands have been won by provincial winners, and i think that this is a trend that is hear to stay.

This Mayo setup were given a great chance last Sept of winning an All-Ireland and they didn't take it!

I think there will be lots of doubts deep down and if so then Roscommon could cause an upset provided they put in a good performance.
