Great to see Donegal redeploying the blanket, kind of makes me yearn for the old days of 03. I now understand why East Germans also yearn to be reunited with mother Russia. Come on Donegal put derry back in their box for 2014. duke_raul (Tyrone) - Posts: 993 - 25/05/2014 14:19:49 1593030 Link 0 |
McQuillan's sense of entitlement to completely ignore the rulebook never ceases to amaze... doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 25/05/2014 14:21:10 1593031 Link 0 |

I didn't think it was a clear black card. It wasn't a blatant drag down and the attacker could have stayed on his feet. It was a close call that could have been given but I wouldnt blame Joe for it. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 25/05/2014 14:27:41 1593036 Link 0 |
only one team playing like they want to win it the other team has some great brick layers in their side. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 25/05/2014 14:30:37 1593037 Link 0 |

Both defensive and terrible in front of goal, hope the 2nd half is better! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8759 - 25/05/2014 14:43:52 1593043 Link 0 |
Derry should just knock it about at the back for the rest of the game. Donegal aren't going to push out anyway. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 25/05/2014 14:47:21 1593045 Link 0 |
If Donegal has their shooting boots with them they'd be well ahead. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13803 - 25/05/2014 14:48:15 1593046 Link 0 |
As well as the tactics being dire, the standard of football is awful as well. McBreartys missed goal, Thompsons missed point, Sean Leo's point effort, the last Derry attack where they didn't even go down and pick up the ball are all examples of an absence of basic football skills. Lets hope one of the managers is brave enough to risk leaving 3 forwards in the oppositions half in the next 35 minutes. The worst thing is that some of these lads are among the country's best footballers, they are just not in anyways sharp because of the emphasis of their managers on physique it would seem. I expected the defensive setups but the wastefulness especially from Donegal is awful. So many simple shots being dragged wide or short. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 25/05/2014 14:54:23 1593048 Link 0 |
Terrible play by the Holly to soccer sidefoot pass when he should have picked up the ball and drove on for goal. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8858 - 25/05/2014 14:58:33 1593051 Link 0 |

Fantastic goal, beautiful football all round. This should spark things a bit. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 25/05/2014 15:05:17 1593056 Link 0 |
Now that's much better, all we need is Derry to step up and we have a game! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8759 - 25/05/2014 15:06:17 1593057 Link 0 |
Surely 2nd half will be better? Shocking 1st half. Great goal for Donegal, fantastic point by Murphy, at last Donegal realuse you have to score to win a match. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4954 - 25/05/2014 15:06:26 1593058 Link 0 |
