RAHKILL as I was saying 'Antrim have never played in Croke Park, not even since the turn of the century. '

Depends on the stewards arock!

True - GAA has lots of rules and regulations they don't implement, I have seen people being taken out by Stewards and Gardai but I i've what you describe too.

over drinking and overly abusive fans was always a problem and frequently go hand in hand but it is a problem that no one wants to tackle, I don't buy into the theory that once you pay your money your entitled to say what you want. Every county have their quota of ********* who spoil things for anyone within earshot and it would be great to see leading players/ managers speak out against it. Most of those dishing out the abuse, frequently to their own were either useless players or didn't have what it takes to make it. It would be a sad day if it ever got to the stage where segregation was the norm. Rant over

Hardly a rant - this is good comment.

I like the few pints before games, but that doesn't entitle anyone to shouting their heads off with vile abuse. I did that as a young fella but had a couple of good mates who pointed out the error of my ways.

One has to stand back & ask why they are going to games. For me it's the love of the game, so I decided to shut up with the nonsense and enjoy what's going on, be passionate yes but no bad language & always remember there are kids who will listen to that & copy it.

Save aggression & bad language for the gym, in a corner where you can't be heard ....

God we have some whiter than white souls on here , plus I notice as fact the connection of a loudmouth must be drunk , I will repeat a comment made earlier some of the worst abuse Ive witnessed has come from SOBER people , these are the same guys who attend club games and dish trash all over the club player , its far too easy to go down the I drink a couple of pints but Im a nice guy line , GAA attracts all sorts , it attracts from all areas of the country and county ,
I attend club games length and breath of Dublin , I go into areas were colourful language is very Roddy Doyle its used on the pitch , by the mentors , by the fans, I hasten to add its not aggressive however it does contain many expletives .
On the other hand Ive been to areas were you encounter a more calm passionate mother in her 4x4 , who's perfume is the most aggressive thing on hand .
Bringing it back to Croke Park , well for all the improvements the atmosphere has been sanitised in my opinion , as a boy the adrenalin the heartbeat of going to a game was the players , the characters , thats slowly being lost , when going to a stadium remember you are not going for a night out at the opera , tolerance is a slow dying commodity in Ireland being replaced by those who know best and wish to impose their idea of how to live on everyone else .For me worst sight or experience in HQ was the couple two seats down with 3- 4. year olds twins All Ireland 2011 , two seats for kids who hadn't a clue , made my blood boil .
Rant over .

Will they still let you into the game if you are wearing sneakers or is neat dress essential?

A few years ago at the Antrim/Tyrone Ulster final at Clones there were a few nasty incidents through alcohol. There were a particular, obnoxious crowd of very drunk young Tyrone fans behind one of the goals. They were trying to wind Antrim fans up by banging on about "Joyriders/carthieves/Frankies" etc ALL the game and eventually a few older Antrim fans had enough. They went into the crowd to sort it out and a few more sensible Tyrone heads got the young Tyrone fans off site very quickly but it was ugly for a few minutes. Now I am not being holier than thou as I also in my time seen a few blue bag drinkers amongst our support but it was disgusting, drunken behaviour in Clones and very annoying for the decent Tyrone and Antrim fans.
