Worst thing that happened to you on a pitch?

Got roasted by a well known Antim Hurler in my first intermediate / seconds match as a 15 year old. Came on as a sub after hurling our full forward off the park in training the Thursday before, came on to mark this future county star who was already running amok and he scored 4 goals of me….in about 4minutes. Got some stick of the full back and half back but i didn't see them marking him, that fella had some pace back then. Also got a ball driven through my face card and ended up like the elephant man for a few days. Lucky enough not to have lost the top row. Also got the nose bent across my face a couple of times and for good measure had the top of my head bitten (in an accidental collision in training) and had to get 3 staples in my barnet.

Spat at an opposition player once and he turned around and clocked me so hard. I actually was nearly knocked unconscious from it! Ref didnt even do anythin about it

Im not sure if I should applaud you for your honesty in telling this , if I should berate you for something so low , Ive given and taken digs but spitting my blood boils just thinking of it ,

I've been spit at. It's disgusting. I'm sure you're a nice person etc, but anyone who spits at an opponent has no place on a pitch. You should be disgusted with yourself.

Indeed Master....nobody better than WB at fishing.

Years ago playing u-16 I caught a ball near my own goal line, miss kicked it so it ended going straight up or slighty backwards in the air only to find a very strong wind blow it over my own crossbar...I was not let forget it for years and even now it comes up now and again. It was only a challenge game was my only defense.

I have to say my old club was good for minding young lads. You'd be 16 or 17 at corner forward and if you were getting abuse, one of the older lads would say "tip out to the wing for a few mins there chap". After about 10 mins you'd go back into the corner to find the man eating scaldy corner back had had a miraculous conversion and now was actually playing the ball. It's something I've seen plenty of times and something I've done myself now too.

Thought Id share , not on a pitch , but a few members decided to paint the outside of club recently , weather good , then a car slows down and an auld fella shouts out , about bloody time you criminals are made to do proper community work .

Playing in an u-12 game as the only girl on a boys team, running rings around my marker and his father shouts out "Punch her, punch the girl". I was 12.

Years of taking abuse from boy's mothers from the sidelines when playing on an underage boys team. Mother's are the WORST!!
