If Brolly said it, it must be true!

A reading from the Gospel according to St Joe.

That should get the fire stoked up again for another week or two :-)

"Diarmuid Connolly has spent his short career being pulled down, body checked and spoiled. But opponents can't do that anymore."

Connolly spent the first few years of his career having his performances being ripped apart by Brolly. Now it seems he's his biggest fan.

Liam football will never be as good as hurling. You have to have skill to hurl you just need to be cynical to play football. Football is painful to watch where as hurling is a joy to watch the skill and artistry. I will get a barrage of abuse from the football fans but they all know it is true. I played both, any guy can play football but hurling is a different class altogether.

Joe Brolly will say anything for a bit of publicity. After watching one hurling game it seems he is now an expert.

Hoover, hurling is not HALF as hard to play as ye "hurling people" like to let on!
Any sport that tells itself its the best field game in the world, when no one believes that except ye're selves, well, its like an Aston Villa fan telling you they are still a huge club. No one believes it except Villa fans!
A skillfull footballer is a more skillfull sportsman than a skillfull hurler.....FACT :)

First time in years that the hurling has been overshadowed by the football on Paddy's Day. Must be true so!

And hurling is a game for ugly footballers. Hence the need for helmets ;-)

I think the catch phrase is fastest field game. I don't hurling needs to convince itself of anything, there is no comparison at all.

Did you read the article at all? Or watch the club finals for that matter? The reality is if it went the other way, and the football was cynical, we would be getting told how great hurling was and how football was just cynical with the club finals being offered as an example, why cant it work the othe way also?

Ya that is what most hurlers who werent great at football tend so say... At some point one of them will realise how ironic that is...

People have painfully short memories. The exact same man, said the exact same thing, about the exact same game at this exact time last year. Are the rugbysoccer(A.K.A Gaelic football)fans this insecure about it? I don't think so, but i'm starting to change my mind slowly every year. Do you have to go and mock other sports to make up for the missing entertainment in rugbysoccer? It's starting to look that way.

ah hoover hurling is as cynical as football can be. if you saw the antics of the great tommy walsh a few years ago running towards the sliothar with his opponent the word cynical was redefined. football requires greater fitness as unlike hurling where the ball does most of the work in football the player does most of the work. anyone worth their salt knows hurling is a brillant game to watch but a fast flowing football game can as easily be exciting. the problem is over the last decade football has concentrated more on the skills of the game with the spectacle suffering as a result. still we have been treated to some great games in the championship over that period.

Ah Kiloughter just getting a rise. Personally there are one or two lads here that constantly need to make a point about their chosen sport. For me it is hurling. For Liamwalkingstick it is trying to rile people!!!

It is something no one will agree on whatever the case.

The 'football snobs' are out again. They always feel they have to down hurling in order to promote their game. The GAA has both codes. ye should too
