1561799 If it's so easy to score a goal why do players not score 3 goals every game. its not that easy especially when there is a kepper in the way of the goals

Thats just it, it is happening a lot lately. There was 3 goals scored with the hands yesterday, 2 were 2 handed slapped goals, one for each team. Had they been forced to either just use 1 hand or a kicked goal they probably would not have happened.

I think they are brilliant for the game, they are usually unexpected when they happen and add something different to the game. A lot harder to execute than some are suggesting.

you have to laugh with people talking about keeping with the traditions of the game
we know have a refs book full of 3 differant colour cards which was taken from other sports the idea of cards
bit late to start whinging over a player fisting a ball to the net going away from traditions
as didnt kerry in the 70tys get most their goals from handpasssing the ball to the net

Gaelic Football - clue is in the name of the game. Scores should be with the foot. That's my opinion and players who are more comfortable with doing that should be rewarded.

The handballers and the volleyballers have their own sports to hone their skills. Everyone acknowledges there is a skill in fisting in a goal, but there's also a skill in rugby tackling an opponent and in throwing the ball - doesn't mean we incorporate them into the game.

We should incorporate what's unique to Gaelic Football (kicking a football out the hands) and filter out the rest.

I'm surprised more aren't in support of this. It's been one of the most obvious things to me to improve the game for years now.

I don't see what the big deal is about goals scored with the hand. Players use their hands all the time in general play to knock the ball away from an opponent or to flick it on to a team-mate - should we disallow that too? While we're at it,maybe we should also ban fist-passing since it is so much easier than executing a foot-pass, and worse still it looks like a volleyball serve.

I don't know how this would improve anything.its a very clever move,it involves good teamwork and unselfishness from the passer.another good move is when a midfielder has a chance for a clean catch but instead pats it down to a team mate in space instead of catching the ball in a crowded area, should this be outlawed too?

I used kerry of the 70tys as they are regarded as the best team to have played the game

I'm all for the fist / palmed / slapped goal. It is a considerable skill which takes good timing. If your county or club were 2 points down with 20 seconds remaining in a final, then your wing back lofts the ball onto the corner forward's fist, rattling the back of the net would you shout 'free out' in disgust? I highly doubt it!
It's an even more difficult skill to master in hurling where it takes even more concentration to pull off.
