Croke Park Discrimation of fans for AI Club final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Article in the Connaught Telegraph outlining the discrimation of one set of fans over another by Croke Park

The jist of it is that St Vincents fans are allowed free entry based upon their tickets whereas Castlebar Mitchells are not even though the tickets are essentially the same.

I assume the hurling fan out there from Carlow and Galway may also have similar tickets. I don't know if their County boards have raised this. Surely this is just wrong and all fans should be treated equally.

I am a parnell pass holder which is the dublin county board season ticket and cannot get into this match with my pass either
the hill 16 season ticket is the same thing as the gaa season ticket
can you get in free with the gaa season ticket?

The Hill 16 Pass is part of the Seaon Ticket Scheme. All season ticket holders from all counties are entitled to entry to the club finals this weekend, regardless of whether or not their country is being represented.

From reading the article it seems like you can.

I emailed them (Mayo CC) yesterday and was told no we dont (get in with Mayo season ticket), said they argued it with croke park but didnt get anywhere with it. Doesnt make sense seen as the croke park season ticket gets you entry.

I have a Chairde Maigh Eo ticket myself and looks like it won't allow me entry to the game Monday where as those on the GAA season ticket can get in. I don't know who is to blame but its either the GAA or the Mayo CC board to blame for this...going by history it's probably both.

The differce here is that the Parnell Pass and the Cáirde Mhaigheo (No entry with either this weekend) are County Board initiatives whereas the Season Ticket (Incuding the Hill 16 Ticket) is a GAA Initiative. The All-Ireland Club Championships is run centally by the GAA so they saw fit to add some value to the season ticket, and include entry to the club finals with the season ticket.

I'd have thought that if both Dublin and Mayo county boards wanted to include the Club Finals in their own loyalty schemes they'd have to agree that with Croke Park and probably pay for it, with the cost most liely being passed on to Parnell Pass and Cáirde Mhaigheo holders.

captainbrooksie is spot on
it states on the parnell pass forms
exactly what you get
all dublin football and hurling home matches in league
all dublin club championship matches and games run under dublin county board
and guarnateed a ticket to all championship matches involving dublin
so I pressume all county boards own season ticket schemes operate the exact same
where as seson ticket from gaa states you gain entry to club finals regardless of if its your county champions playing.
bad form from the mayo crowd here whinging without knowing the facts
and bad form from the newspapers writing this article without doing any research

Shocking discrimination. People not being allowed free entry to something they've not paid for.

It's like the time AerLingus discriminated against me by not letting me on the flight with my Leap Card.

"bad form from the mayo crowd here whinging without knowing the facts"

******************************

No one was on here whinging. The article is printed in the paper and was referenced. It was answered by one other Mayo supporter on the thread. And I I wanted to know if the Hurlers etc were similarly affected.

So get your own facts right before throwing cheap insults out.

Nobody worrying about free tickets down here I can tell ye. Just delighted to see a Carlow team in a senior all Ireland final. They could charge €100 and it wouldn't stop anyone from Carlow that intends going!

Is this a special concession? I'm a season tkt holder and my card says that only cards with the club+ logo gain entry to club fixtures and this is subject to County conditions. Perhaps the final is an exception. Looks like a few grey areas all the same.
