This is professionalism, and is also paying a manager for managing Dublin. Either this deal should be cancelled or Dublin should be thrown out of the championship. Not just a simple case of sponsorship.

And to rub salt into the wounds, AIG will look after the insurance, all we need know is our local friendly Topaz station to provide the fuel free of charge, a bummer about the car tax though.

Pillar will sign them off the road ;-)

It will make playing for Dublin a lot more attractive though. In fact no Dublin player is going to hang his boots up now until he absolutely has to. Look what you'd be giving up!

It is bit ironic that the only county with any decent public transport and has to do the least travelling gets a lock of cars for themselves. Still, Toyota obviously feel its a good deal for them, fair play to Dublin CB too. If Toyota felt they'd get as much exposure sponsoring Roscommon or Carlow they'd do that instead. Its business at the end of the day.

I say fair play to them, it is the typical Irish attitude that if someone other than yourself is succeeding, people start moaning about them. I am a bit worried when more teams start following in the footsteps of Dublin, negotiating large sponsorship deals, getting cars for players, etc. The amateur element of GAA will be taken out of it and it will be become professional. I think that is the day I will stop following the GAA, hurling and football will be a no contact sport with aload of pre-madonas calling themselves ridiculous nicknames with it printed on the back of their shirt.

This is hardly new as indeed some Cork hurlers had sponsored cars from a dealership or what not in their prime, Ben O'Connor had one from a dealership in Charleville IIRC.

Fair play to them, but who decides who gets one?

Will the chairmans wife need one for dropping the kids off to school?

When they said Mossy was going to add a bit of drive to the team I didn't think to take them literally!

There's a clear difference between an individual getting sponsored and receiving a car for managing a team, a deal reached by your county board. This is identical to Westmeath receiving 30,000 euro from a sponsor and just dividing it amongst the players. This is professionalism and needs to be stopped.

Good luck to them - what Dublin seem to be doing right now and indeed over the last while is putting 100% into everything.

I don't understand why this post is introduced with such negativity.

Everyone needs to take a step back and see what's happening , Mossy Quinn quit a good job in the private sector to become marketing manager for the dubs . They hired Mike Farnan as a senior consultant (what does his duties include). Mike Farnan has worked with manchester united and other clubs in england . United had a big sponsorship deal with AIG and now Dublin have a big deal with AIG . All of a sudden Mike Farnan is hired as a " SENIOR CONSULTANT" . Is there a connection. If we have learned anything over the last few years it is that consultants only look out for themselves.

Cars are small potatoes.

In Donegal we have a big yellow bus parked right in front of the goal!!!

Whatever about the toyota car but the one about the GAA's National Sports Complex being built in Blanchardstown is a complete joke. It's basically a de facto centre of excellence for Dublin GAA without them having to lift a finger.

I'm actually flabbergasted that no county boards have kicked up over this. This is nothing short of a disgrace.

Maybe a few more county boards need the drive (no pun intended) the Dublin board have demonstrated rather than complaining about unfair advantages. I'm happy enough with the Tyrone boards commercial activities all the same.
