I cant call the laois game. I think that on paper down should win it, but laois need points you are right.
Meath should win v louth
Monaghan should have enough against galway, but the reports from last weekends game in monaghan is that laois were in control for much of the game, so who knows.
As for ourselves, I am glad there is a wee bit to play for, but I just cant see ourselves being caught for goals like we were last weekend. So i will say we should win away to armagh.

I wouldn't say Laois were in control most of the game last weekend. It was a poor game overall and Laois took the lead a couple of times in the first half but went in level. Then we started the second half well and lead for the remainder.

Anyway as for this weekend, I'll go for wins for Donegal, Meath, Monaghan, and a draw in Laois-Down as I can't call it!

Armagh v Donegal - Donegal to win, but I think it will be a tight enough game. No lapse of concentration for Donegal in this game.
Laois v Down - I think Down, but Laois will be fighting to stay up.
Louth v Meath - Meath, I think The Royal's are too strong for Louth. No upsets in this one.
Monaghan v Galway - Galway, Just have a feeling the might cause an upset.

Armagh v Donegal - Donegal to win; Armagh were poor against Galway, and even with Galway only scoring a handful of points in the second half, they never really threatened.
Laois v Down - Down.
Louth v Meath - Meath, in what could a right thrilling encounter. A fight against relegation against their much beloved neighbour; all the ingredients for a hum-dinger!
Monaghan v Galway - Galway. Just 'coz.

I think Division 2 is really still up in the air.

Donegal and Monaghan would logically be my favourites to go up, as with both on 9 points and superb score difference it will be hard for them not to. Both teams could possibly lose by a narrow margin and still get promoted even if Meath and Down win by 10-14 points each.

Down need to win in PortLaoise, and Donegal and Meath to both lose in order to achieve promotion.

Meath need the other 3 teams to lose, and then they need to claw back at least a 34 points deficit in order to make the cut. Big ask in 70 minutes.

clones is a big ask for our young (hopefully emerging) team. obviously a mixed league for us but at least form is improving at the right time just pre championship. monaghan are the real deal and have kicked on impressively so far from last season but I expect a performance from us on sunday. not sure if it will be good enough to win the match. interesting after the clarification from malone magic that in the event of us and armagh losing a laois win is better for us than a laois draw. still its in our own hands and the major plus of this league for us is we have finally found a solid midfield pairing with plenty of potential. other games will go with meath, down and a draw in armagh.

NO!.. This has been pointed out to you by a few posters earlier. As Monaghan & Down DREW their game, head to head is INVALID, so therefore goes to pts difference. Monaghan are 15pts better off than Downn.
Therefore if Galway beat Monaghan by say, 1 pt, then Down would have to beat Laios by at least 15 pts to get promoted instead of Monaghan.

I have full faith (maybe) that Armagh can get the job done against Donegal (potentially).

But if we don't, I'd like to give Down my full support and even have placed a bet on Lion na Bearnai for the grand national due its colours.

Up Down!!!!

Surely that means that Armagh have everything to play for as well or am I missing something?

Monaghan v Galway
Just been let "slip" on Galway Bay FM, that their midfielder F. O'Currain is out of Sundays game (hamstring). Probably replaced by P Conroy.

your on the button monaghan exile. heard it locally from a good source this morning. he was our motm against both down and armagh. p conroy is over the last 2 years our best footballer but it takes from our forwards moving him back. in fact in complete contrast to traditional galway teams it is the forwards where we are lacking at the moment so the task on sunday is not getting any easier.

Monaghan team for Sunday:

1 Rory Beggan
2 Kieran Duffy
3 Drew Wylie
4 Fintan Kelly
5 Colin Walshe
6 Vinny Corey
7 Dessie Mone
8 Gavin Doogan
9 Dick Clerkin
10 Karl O'Connell
11 Jack Mc Carron
12 Padraig Donaghy
13 Dermot Malone
14 Kieran Hughes
15 Conor McManus

Hopefully we'll finish the league off with a win to secure the promotion. With Galway fighting for their own survival I'm not expecting an easy match, but I think we should do it. Lennon, Finlay, Gollogly and Darren Hughes are available off the bench aswell so the introduction of a few of those in the second half should give us a push if we need it.

Ffestiniog. Meath are safe from relegation, so our match against Louth isn't a relegation battle
