Donegal & Laois for me still, more so now after round 3.

Laois to beat Armagh and keep the pressure on the nordies.

Donegal to beat Meath by a similar margin as last weeks win over Monaghan.

Galway and Down could be much closer than many people expect.Down will win narrowly.

Monaghan won't get it as easy as Down did last week, Louth can be dangerous when nothing is expected from them. Anything other than a convincing Monaghan win would be a shock for most, but maybe not to some of Louth's faithful followers.

To be honest with the whole thing, I expected Meath to progress this year. Shocked so far really! Was looking forward to this match more than most but in fairness I still think they have a big game in them. One thing's for certain, they don't want to be playing Division 3 next year again and that's why I wouldn't go saying Donegal -10 and all that! Far from it,, could be closer than most think. I reckon that Meath have a point to prove and will throw everything, kitchen sick and all at us this Sunday. It'll be interesting!

By the way Royaldunne take yourself and the family to a good restaurant and order the Donegal Seafood Chowder! It's world famous man ;-)

Armagh to edge out laois by a point. Not much between these two.
Donegal way ahead of an abysmal Meath team. Donegal by 11 pts.
Down will travel to galway and come away with a 6pt win. Galway very poor.
Finally Monaghan to be strong for Louth by 7pts

I see where you're coming from talking down Donegal's chances of a big win and talking Meath up a bit, I'd probably be doing the same if the shoe was on the other foot but in all honesty this Meath team just ain't up to it. All us Royals are hoping that there's a serious sting left in the tail but realistically we'll be looking for points elsewhere, the last 2 defeats have completely burst our balloons.

Not hoping for a lot in Ballybofey tomorrow, could be on for a trouncing. Would be happy with a moral victory of sorts, the kind the Ireland rugby team seemed to get annually against France a few years ago, where a massive comeback drops just short, and everyone gives their all.

Also can we retire the phrase "x are at their most dangerous when written off" thats trotted out whenever the underdog for a match is mentioned? I have seen it applied to every single county at this stage, its basicaly meaningless. Coupled with the fact that in reality 9 times out of 10 the written off team loses, they're written off for a reason.

I agree with you in part, in that I also don't buy into the 'x are at their best when written off', as you said the favourite wins way more often than not in those circumstances. I won't be happy with a moral victory though, I can't stand moral victories because they amount to nothing more than what they are = defeats.

I think the Meath "tail' has more of a curl in it than a "sting"at this stage

Wise man sir. Indeed I'll try it this eve. Well over half way to Donegal, stopping for bite to eat and watching the rugby. Gotto agree with hhtaem again, we'll be called same poster if this continues man:). Hate moral victories. They mean nothing , see no difference between them and a hiding.
I'll continue on my journey and I can't wait to taste the chowder this evening, could be highlight of the weekend.

Royal, I noted from an earlier post this week that you were travelling to ballybofey for the weekend, for this reason I thought I had encountered you earlier in me elhinneys as I spotted an over optimistic Meath fan proudly decked out in his Meath jersey, then again I know there is more than one optimistic Meath man in town for the weekend, enjoy the chowder and hospitality of the villa rose or jacksons, could be a long night for you followed by an even longer day tomorrow, Donegal by 5-7 points, up tir conaill

I agree. I watched the highlights of the Armagh v Meath game, and Armagh were fortunate that game wasn't over at half time. Meath have a strong running game, however their biggest weakness during the National League has been their defensive setup.
Meath to date have been leaking a lot of scores, but I expect them to rectify this before summer and put in a good championship.

Based on Donegal's performances to date, I would expect them to win this game. However I don't see this being a handy tie, far from it.

Can't see Down doing to Galway what they did to Louth or anything near it for that matter.

Down are a nice team but I feel the Louth result is not a true reflection of how good Down are.

How many times have you seen teams score for fun when the other team was just going through when all they wanted was to get off the park showered, dried and home.

Down did just that last week against Louth, Benny Counlter came on well into the second half and scored two goals for fun.

Yes Down did work hard early in the game to put the game beyond Louth's reach, long before the first half whistle was sounded the game was over as a contest. The second half of the game was no contest and frankly I seen nothing on Saturday last to suggest that Down are going to be a force to be reckoned with from here on.

Louth were awful truly awful not Down's fault I know but people shouldn't read too much into Down's winning margin is all I'll say.

Great food and lovely people, not one snide comment from anyone even though I'm wearing mr tayto. Great welcome, everyone wants to talk about match,; elder one will mind little ones as myself and herself go down for a glass or two. Regardless of result got to say Donegal fans have gone up hugely in my estimation.

As a Meath man living in Donegal meetings like this are always ones to look forward too, I look forward to a good game and hopefully a good outcome, safe travelling to all the loyal Meath supporters travelling tonight or tomorrow, I'm sure we will all find each other tomorrow

Whats the inside Story with Louth so far The Snapper? I would have expected them to cause Down major headaches last week, but that really was far from happening.

Can you see Louth beating Monaghan or Donegal?
