Jim they were only banned in Croke park and that was because of an clause in their high insurance contract. If pitch celebrations (as i like to call them) were a thing of the past like Yew tree claims then what happened after the Munster hurling and Ulster football final wouldn't have happened.

For example live outdoor concerts also bring a high risk of personal injury claims but you won't see those getting banned. Pitch celebrations can be controlled with better and more stewarding and that should prevent what happened at Gaelic Grounds this summer.

The crowd were told multiple times not to go on the pitch after the match,on the program(which i doubt they even bought) and by the announcer. How can the GAA be at fault if the three were breaking the rules of the ground? Their timing is fairly fishy also.

Which also leads to the other point. Perhaps the three claims are perfectly justified! I was at the match, entered the pitch after the game, stayed on it and circulated for a good 20 minutes,until most of the crowd had gone, and yet never any sign of anybody getting injured. The whole thing appears very fishy to me. But then it is said that if you have a minor car accident in a certain southern city, not Limerick, you are 10 times more likely to suffer 'whiplash' than if you were involved in a similar accident in Scotland

Unless someone from Limerick GAA was forcing them on to the pitch the details don't matter one bit. They were breaking the rules. If it was crush in the stands or something then fair enough but you can't act like that and then expect to get paid for it.

People can hardly complain if they run on the pitch and fall or slip. It should be enter at your own risk. The pitch invasions were great especially after an All Ireland final but in this Health and Safety overkill country we now live in, sadly they will be a thing of the past. No Health and Safety overkill. Pitch invasions are major issues for insurance, safety and management of stadiums in how everyone who invades pitch generally exits ground through less exits which causes blockages and can be a potential for much worse

The sad thing is that anyone who would do that to their own county isnt a real GAA person. It was probably their first and last game to attend all year. Nobody forced them to climb out onto the pitch so they should be responsible for their own actions and stupidity. The GAA have been very clear for a number of years that pitch invasions are not sanctioned by the authorities and only happen when the push from the crowd is so great that the stewards have to let them on to prevent a crush within the stands. Limerick GAA should fight these claims to the very last and hopefully that would put others off doing the same in the future.
Unfortunately in Ireland stupidity and recklessness are well rewarded by our courts. Rubbish.
What is a "real GAA person"? Ridiculous to try say it was someone's only game of the year they attended. How do you know they weren't forced. Could have been at front of terrace/front row seats and easiest way out of ground is via pitch instead of fighting against crowd trying get into the pitch.

It's a means to a quick buck. I'd like to think that Limerick CB will fight this all the way but in the long run it's probably cheaper to settle.
Then again we don't know the exact details of the cases been taken. These people may not have been intent of invading the pitch but felt it safer to do so with thousands brushing up against them. Means to quick buck.... rubbish.

They may not have wanted to go on field but may have had to do to actions of other spectators in the crowd around them. It may have been safer for them to go onto pitch than try fight against flow of crowd going against them. How is timing fishy??
