Jim they were only banned in Croke park and that was because of an clause in their high insurance contract. If pitch celebrations (as i like to call them) were a thing of the past like Yew tree claims then what happened after the Munster hurling and Ulster football final wouldn't have happened.
For example live outdoor concerts also bring a high risk of personal injury claims but you won't see those getting banned. Pitch celebrations can be controlled with better and more stewarding and that should prevent what happened at Gaelic Grounds this summer.

People like that make my blood boil.
I hope the good people of Limerick give them plenty of grief whoever they are.
Sincerely hope they lose the case have to pay the court costs. It would stop anything like this in the future.

The crowd were told multiple times not to go on the pitch after the match,on the program(which i doubt they even bought) and by the announcer. How can the GAA be at fault if the three were breaking the rules of the ground? Their timing is fairly fishy also.

Yew_Tree well said, stick up an "Enter at your own risk, GAA excepts no responsibility" problem sorted. Its a tradition we have.

Agree with Áth Cliath. They should be banned from all GAA grounds and facilities for life. Parasites.

Well, well, well. After plenty of sanctimonious moaning directed at the GAA regarding pitch invasions well what do you know, people are going to court for damages after a pitch invasion. Who could have seen that happen, eh?
And by the way. "They must not be GAA people"? Get over yourself, they are probably lifetime members, just being a member of the GAA doesn't mean you can't also be a scumbag.
Which also leads to the other point. Perhaps the three claims are perfectly justified! Neither you nor I know the details, its perfectly possible that 3 innocent people got hurt due to the innate danger involved in thousands of people stampeding into a place they should not be going. Crazy enough, the very reason that the GAA wanted to ban the things in the first place!!!

I was at the match, entered the pitch after the game, stayed on it and circulated for a good 20 minutes, until most of the crowd had gone, and yet never any sign of anybody getting injured. The whole thing appears very fishy to me. But then it is said that if you have a minor car accident in a certain southern city, not Limerick, you are 10 times more likely to suffer 'whiplash' than if you were involved in a similar accident in Scotland

Unless someone from Limerick GAA was forcing them on to the pitch the details don't matter one bit. They were breaking the rules. If it was crush in the stands or something then fair enough but you can't act like that and then expect to get paid for it.

20/12/2013 10:38:57 jimbodub Shameful stuff... Limerick GAA rocked by personal injury claims What is shameful about any of this?
20/12/2013 11:08:50 hootervillian If I was from Limerick I would be absolutely mortified about this. Why would you be mortified?
20/12/2013 11:17:54 yew_tree People can hardly complain if they run on the pitch and fall or slip. It should be enter at your own risk. The pitch invasions were great especially after an All Ireland final but in this Health and Safety overkill country we now live in, sadly they will be a thing of the past. No Health and Safety overkill. Pitch invasions are major issues for insurance, safety and management of stadiums in how everyone who invades pitch generally exits ground through less exits which causes blockages and can be a potential for much worse
20/12/2013 11:20:06 jpcampion The sad thing is that anyone who would do that to their own county isnt a real GAA person. It was probably their first and last game to attend all year. Nobody forced them to climb out onto the pitch so they should be responsible for their own actions and stupidity. The GAA have been very clear for a number of years that pitch invasions are not sanctioned by the authorities and only happen when the push from the crowd is so great that the stewards have to let them on to prevent a crush within the stands. Limerick GAA should fight these claims to the very last and hopefully that would put others off doing the same in the future. Unfortunately in Ireland stupidity and recklessness are well rewarded by our courts. Rubbish. What is a "real GAA person"? Ridiculous to try say it was someone's only game of the year they attended. How do you know they weren't forced. Could have been at front of terrace/front row seats and easiest way out of ground is via pitch instead of fighting against crowd trying get into the pitch.
20/12/2013 11:33:19 daytona11 It's a means to a quick buck. I'd like to think that Limerick CB will fight this all the way but in the long run it's probably cheaper to settle. Then again we don't know the exact details of the cases been taken. These people may not have been intent of invading the pitch but felt it safer to do so with thousands brushing up against them. Means to quick buck.... rubbish.

20/12/2013 12:03:32 Tom1916 disgusting, these people have no morals and are a blight on society, they are everything the GAA isn't. Bull... Morals... Certainly not a blight on society. How do you know they didn't want to be on pitch and only reason they were was push of people behind them rushing towards pitch either got them injured or forced onto pitch 20/12/2013 12:20:02 juniorbsub True for you yew tree, And here was me thinking the greed of the celtic tiger years was behind us.Hope the Limerick county board win this one and issue life bans to the 3 muppets. Life bans??? Ridiculous... What justification and under what would they be banned for?

20/12/2013 13:56:11 Star Gazer Whatever those 3 are, they are certainly not "supporters". Hopefully they don't get a euro. Have they no shame. A disgrace to true Limerick supporters. They are true supporters. How are they not and they're not a disgrace either 20/12/2013 15:52:37 valley84 they must not be members of the GAA otherwise you cannot sue an organisation you are a member of. read the law books... You can sue an organisation of which you are a member. how do you not know that?
20/12/2013 17:59:05 SamMaguire3 jimbodub you got it 100% there. These arent gaa people if there at that, went to see it for the hype and crac and taught oh ill make a few pound while im out!
