Treasurer PJ Lambe revealed that total income was €2,118,858, up €170,000 from 2012. The closing balance of the county board is €13,233,502.

Never mind the Dubs sharing sponsorship money, did Mayo win the Euromillions or something?

Surely there's a cheque for a couple of million already in the post and on its way to the Leitrim county board...

Bang on.

Where was this approach of looking at everyone's accounts before though one wonders!

Much to the surprise of the delegates at the recent Kildare County Convention the Kildare treasurer announced a profit for 2013 of €177,000.

Ain't that we've been saying all along Mes...

But sure tis just us "shouting down" and "ridiculing" others and the likes right?

Not many counties can afford 650,000 on one team

One rule for some... :)

Yet you don't hear many from Connacht and across the country playing the poor mouth card about Mayo

Speaks volumes about the true intentions of certain posters and their own hypocritical and disingenuous points of view

I wonder are Leitrim or Roscommon spending 21.5k a year per player. It hardly seems fair. Perhaps the should pool their money in the province and divvy it up.
More importantly are they getting value for money?

I dont knoe aido69. Why not provide dublin's expenditure and we can see what they spent per player as a mode of comparison. Also, why is it that you keep referring to connacht? This is an all-ireland competition...

Master

I believe that's called "moving the goal-posts." and your are a Master at that. The Connaght Championship is pertint as with your obvious finincial might your are a shoe-in to the All Ireland series.
I'm not in a position to provide the figures for Dublin but will be happy to if/when they come to light but once again I'll ask you.
Is it fair?

Of course it's going to be more than Mayo's spend...

We'd probably be one of the only teams in the position to spend more than 650,000 + on one team

That's says it all about the advantages Mayo enjoy at a National level over nearly every other county

Well done to Kildare CB and also well done to the Mayo CB

It's good to see GAA CB's doing well...

We choose to spend it on one team. With mayo being the mean county in the country as regards population, that means half the counties in the country could make the same decision and actually spend more than us. We have chosen to half our possibilty of success by taking away from hurling, that is the penalty of our system, but we arent spending more than the rest, we are spending it in a different fashion.

Dublin on the other hand can, and do, spend more than 650,000 on all teams. I repeat, all the teams they have. There is no balance there. Someone mentioned changing the goalposts? Exhibit A

Dublin easily spent a cool million on their footballers, and 700,000 on their hurlers. Mayo spent 740,000 on their teams.

TheMaster.....

You are like Audley Harrison in a boxing match...full of all sorts of wind before the event...and knocked out out with a couple of slaps.

This is hilarious reading from you! Just give it up....you were wrong about Dublin and your county has an unfair advantage over most in Connaught!

Dont be a sore loser!

So...

Someone will always sit on top themaster... Dublin has and always will have advantages

We're the biggest brand in the GAA

But hey...

You boys are sitting on top of nearly every other county in this country at a National level

Never mind Connacht

There's only a very select few that can spend 650,000 on the one team

Going by your own stance on financial advantages

I'm only using your own logic chief... your exact stance regarding Dublin GAA

How is that fair?

If Mayo can spend way above almost everyone else then why cant Dublin spend above everyone else.

We are in a position of being able to do that

I'm only redirecting your own stance right back at you...

In my view...

Mayo are entitled to spend what they can afford on their own team

Which in this case is well above nearly every other county on a National level

But sure big deal... that's the way of the world... "Life isn't fair"

But some get on with things...and others spend their life whinging... even though they have it very well off themselves

So stop playing the poor mouth...

Again not true. Over half the teams in the country could do it. They just have to sacrifice either football or hurling.
Only 1 can spend that across all teams though...

Anyway, could you lads just cut to the part where you provide the dublin figures? Pointing out lie after lie gets tiresome after a while.
