1 team will be on top jimbo, that is true. Not that far ahead though, that is the point...

Shocked to here,TheMasters county spending 650,000 on 1 team,so much for Dublin having an advantage financially over our poorer country cousins.

Bang on.
Where was this approach of looking at everyone's accounts before though one wonders!

What accounts? Dublin wont publish theres. These were the first accounts we have seen.

Why not?

It's all relative compared to how far Mayo is ahead of everyone else...

And anyway man

Did you miss the latest release from the President of The GAA

"Dublin GAA revenue will not be shared"

So what exactlt are you hoping to achieve

If you want more money then team up with Galway / Roscommon under the one sponsorship brand

Thats what Liam O'Neill has put down on record - Counties teaming up under the one brand thus attracting bigger brands with more money

This idea of Dublin sharing it's own money will never happen.

No it isnt, that is the point, it isnt relative at all. Dublin's advantages are in no way relative to the advantages anyone else has. My argument is that they should be. Dublin would still be the biggest and spend the most, just in a relative fashion to everyone else. It is either limit the spending or split them up. The point was made that dublin would lose their identity if that were to happen, well then the decision is all yours, do you want your identity or your heaps of cash?

Liam O'Neill has already addressed your demands

He doesn't agree with you

Also you left out an option...

Counties banding together under the one sponsorship package

This is coming from the GAA themselves

Your own slant on things have no basis in reality.

Again jimbo, saying something is true, doesnt make it so.

Identity and cash is what we'll have themaster

Because nothing will change

It's not about wanting both it's just the way things are man

As it stands we have both because we deserve both.

Your own stance doesn't matter themaster

Split Dublin or hand over cash... pure nonsense with no basis in reality whatsoever.

So your question is in fact pointless.

You deserve both? So you deserve to get advantages over every other county in the all ireland series? There is your issue, that foolish mindset. Nobody deserves any advantages over anyone else, that is how sport works. 'Fair play', it might not ring a bell...

JayP, my head is perfectly above sand and can see what is coming down the road if things carry on in the same vein. You dont seem to though

As already stated man... the GAA itself completely disagrees with your own stance

Your stance has no basis in reality

We wont be split / we wont be made to share revenue

Haven't you been listening to the GAA on this topic?

Mystic Meg.....oh no...TheMaster....

Dont know what you are even talking about....whats coming down the road? The Illuminati are gonna do what when!!!!

You are getting more silly the more you post!

Get off the stage will ya......you have been proved wrong completely on all of this. Comprehensively outwitted and you lack the skill of azsessing information. On all the info provided.....all probability points to Dublin doing great work in their county, getting good sponsorship to do this, and on the back of good planning have achieved some success. Those Donegal boys beat Mayo because of poplulation and money?

When are Mayo giving Leitrim a digout?

Unfortunately The Masters point stops at Dublin. If it didn't it could be argued as reasonable if one could link demographics to success. Funnily enough, that can't be achieved either. However, if you follow his line of argument to its logical conclusion then every county must be recinded to even itself up with the county of the lowest population. Because he can't see beyond Dublin, he lacks credibility, can't be taken seriously and is inherently biased. Move on...

In essence his points have no basis in logic or reality, hence are invalid, and the fact he continuosly repeats the same line of argument makes it even worse!

My post from a different thread, but some relevant points:

Ahh lads do ye not see how petty this argument is: I asked the first question, no I asked the first question.

First of all lads, one of the beautiful things about Sam and Liam is you can't buy them!! Why does the finances of any county really matter that much?? Dublin (and I know this isn't a thread about Dublin) have been the richest county for years, yet their financials are only coming up now because they won 2 all irelands in 3 years. There was no issue when they weren't winning all irelands for years!! Dublin have done a fantastic job in youth development over the last number of years and I say fair deuce to them! The question here should be what should Mayo do with their excess 13 million, answer more than likely youth development too!

Also another point that people are missing, Mayo are obviously going to have more expenses than most other teams as they reached the All Ireland final, other counties training will end in June & July, whereas Mayo's was going to the end of Septmeber. It's also going to be expensive for the Mayo team to keep sending their teams to Dublin for games in Croke Park. So yes Mayo have spent more than others in Connacht, but also I guarantee you that Dublin, Kerry and Tyrone also had big bills for their senior teams, just like Clare and Cork would in Hurling (especially with 2 finals). I think it's great that Mayo can spend that much on their players and reward their commitment! I'm sure Galway were spending massive amounts for the time at the turn of the millenium.

Now I could be wrong about this one, but I'm almost certain I saw somewhere a few years ago that Kerry had spent close to 1 million euros on the Kerry senior team one of the years they got to the final ('09 or '11 i think). So 650,000 isn't actually that bad.

I'd imagine (but haven't a clue really) that Croke Park does their best to spread the funds to all counties, if counties like Dublin or Mayo are able to raise more funds then congratulations to them. If counties like Kildare can't keep their finances together, then nominate new members of the county board who would be better suited to sort this out.

And on final note, I think a lot of the debate over Dublin's financials is due to other counties afraid of their dominance, I for one am not afraid at all ;)
