Thank goodness it was not tonight but I would have though Armagh would have been a better venue than Enniskillen.

The experience of playing at a higher level should enable Tyrone to win by four points.

Half time Tyrone 1-5 Cavan 0-8
Tyrone with goal in last minute to level matters.
Cavan have looked the far slicker upfront with Keating and Dunne looking sharp. Played with breeze in 1st half too, will be disappointed to be going in level at the break.
Tyrone haven't looked like the free flowing team theyve showed so far this year but with the wind at their backs might just push on now, although there's a threat of a goal or 2 in that Cavan forward line

Good enough first half. Some excellent tackling from Cavan and they had the wind to their backs but the leveling goal will mean Tyrone have better chance in second half.Keating lucky not to be black carded for that tackle.

The live streaming is a joke. Keeps freezing. Very disappointing indeed.

Good result for Tyrone, helps to bolster a winning mentality.Thought Mackey getting man of the match was fair enough.Impressed with Tyrone counter attacking and better defending in the second half and delighted to see Coney impress, you can see how much of a threat he could be if he stays injury free. Also glad to see Morgan switch tactics to short passing sometimes.

hard luck Cavan, fair play to Tyrone, Cavan are not too far away, and on another day who knows, they would have won,i believe Cavan will meet Tyrone again, come summer, Tyrone playing in div 1 stood to them, Tyrone have been the best team, in Ulster this last 20 year s, there, or there abouts, Cavan are comming, and will be a match for any of the teams in Ulster, they i believe, and have said it before will only get better and better,

"nature v nurture" explain? think i know what you mean but not sure?

I agree - we aren't far away. We MUST get promoted this year and can be challenging for the Ulster title in the summer with a bit of luck. Smacked the post near the end which would have left a goal between us but i think Tyrone were slightly fitter than us and it showed in the closing minutes.

Best team won, Congrats to Tyrone.

weebox, co. tyrone, hard to believe Cavan still have more mc kenna cups, Ulster titles than Tyrone,, and as for b teams?????? thats insulting those young Tyrone lads, who like the young Cavan lads are the future,, Sean cavanagh, colm are 2 of the best players in Ireland, think no matter what Tyrone team was sent out on the nite, Cavan would still hav put it up to them, and i believe as i have said its only a matter of time, i am sure we have not seen the last meeting of these 2 giants of Ulster football.Tyrone came in the 50 s, Cavan was always there, then where not there as much, now the Breffni Blues are back.

Well said McHugh. It was an insulting post for supporters as well as players who watched 2 teams play open sporting football in mid February. We always had good teams over the years in Cavan. The noughties and the seventies were a bit of a blip though!! Unfortunately lots of our teams in the past were good enough but we lost our way and thought we could compete without putting in the hard yards. The commitment and drive in this current Cavan team is nothing like ever before. It has been brought through them from the underage setups and in fairness since Dublin has raised the bar is the effort required for all other counties to compete. I was very proud of our lads last night, they played football, never gave up, and will have learned a lot from last night. The Future is Blue!!!

Cavan looked good at times last night for this time of the year. Cian Mackey was fantastic last night. We couldn't stop him. Last year certainly wasn't a one of for him. I wouldn't say Tyrone B team at all. Any tema with Sean cavanagh is not a B Team and Tyrone have about 25/30 players who should all be pushing for starting places this year. What I think the guy above meant it was a team who were a bit rusty alot just back from injuries and lengthy spells out which probably accounts for an error ridden first half. Sparked into life second half though and should of had a few more goals, 2 in particular for mc niece. IMO kyle coney has had his chance, he won't see much football this year and rightfully so. Far to erratic, scores wonder point then misses about 3 easy chances or throws it away.

Highlight of the night was seeing PJ Quinn back, lowlight was colly cav getting injured, hope not to bad

Had his chance? It was his first start since April last year, and he also missed the entire 2012 championship due to injury too. What Coney needs is games, and lots of them. He played well last night, and a lad with that size and ability is not someone you cast aside just because he takes the wrong option on occasions. He'll get better with more football, and Mickey will give him that chance.

As for Weebox calling it a Tyrone B side, well it isn't the nicest of expressions, but it is true to say that probably only 4 of those who started last night would be starting if the championship was next week (Morgan, Donnelly and 2xCavanaghs). There were only 3 survivors from our last league game (Morgan, McCann, Colm Cav), and 4 from last year's AI semi final. I thought that it was an encouraging performance, especially given the amount of lads making their first starts of the year.
