I can see your point and it would be good for the Irish population abroad to watch our games

But I also think you're being a wee bit naive and very much over the top in respone to Hill

MesAmis has correctly pointed out a number of points to you regarding some of your posts directed at Hill

This whole I'm alright Jack nonsense... By the sounds of it you're in a better position compared to Hill...

Besides... I'd be hugely shocked if Sky got excluive British/Irish rights

Can't see it happening anytime soon

Def not in the short term

It's just the GAA putting out noise at a beneficial time

Jimbodub never mind I can see your point answer them along with Hill who is quick to ask others to answer questions but neglects to answer mine…..

Gaelic Games are sports for the Irish people not just the 5 million living on the island at present. Can anyone show me anywhere in the rule book where it is stated people who live on the island must receive preferential treatment because that's what the Hill thinks and anyone else who supports his view… The saying I am alright Jack fits perfectly into this scenario. It might be hard to read but it is true….

And re his financial situation, there have been millions of Irish people like him who chose to try and find work, if that meant going to another Country then so be it. They were brave people who more often than not felt that they had no other choice if they wanted to have a successful life. He has decided that is not for him, who dose he think he is that he can criticize a person/my parents for trying to better themselves by working hard and trying to make a go of life in a foreign Country with different cultures etc. Who do you think picked the easier option???? If they make a go of life then surely you should be praising them not criticizing them and being bitter…. And by the way both my parents love Ireland and would have been much happier staying at home if that were possible. They go home all the time and it is only the fact that there family is so settled here in England now that they chose not to return for good.

I have mentioned in the past that I believe RTE should be showing there TV channels in Britain. Why can't they register a channel on free view over here and run an English RTE Channel, Gaelic Games could obviously be a large part of the channel and then everyone's a winner…. You can get Indian, American, Russian channels on our TV at present why not RTE??? The extra 60 million to advertise too would have to be a good thing and you would expect Irish companies to be happy as advertising to 65 million as against 5 million can only be a good thing….. I personally think it is a no brainer and can only see positives, I just don't get why it isn't in place already. Have we got any TV experts on here who might be able to explain why it hasn't been done already?

If Sky is my only option then fine I will take it, but give me free viewing to OUR games first and I will be more than happy… Maybe the extra revenue from the advertising in Britain would plough extra cash into our games as well. Then there is the benefits of the prompting Irish Companies and products in Britain which can only be a good thing for the Irish economy. Then of course the big hope that the games are exposed more and people watch and try to play them.

I wasn't going to respond to Hill to be honest as I feel I am wasting my time really. Some people just don't want the games to expand IMO and that was stated on the last thread similar to this. I didn't bother responding then as I just thought what's the point. There very selfish view point will only suffocate the games and never let them truly meet there full potential IMO if that is there view let them keep it. I would just love to see more of our games and have SIMILAR privileges to them….. But would that make me narrow minded and selfish….:)

That was on Sky which isn't free view and was nothing like the RTE in Ireland. But the final and most important point it showed no live games and only occasional highlights hardly what we see today!!!

Unfortunately RTE are cutting back not expanding at present

Tara never took off had a couple of mates working for them

It was a pity because they had great plans for that channel...

All this was at the time of the boom when there was plenty of money floating around Irish broadcasting

It just wasn't profitable enough and they pulled the plug

Actually ya, you would think it would be in rte's interests to set up in england. I doubt it would cost them much more as they have bought the rights for the programs already, and they are already broadcasting - the hard part is done. They could do something similar to what sky do with country-specific advertising etc. It seems like a no-brainer...

When you think about how far the two founders of Setanta went with a simple idea...

Two Irish lads wanting to watch more Irish games when living in England

before Setanta the Irish in London had to rely on Ambrose Gordon (former London hurling manager) to be able to see the games, check out the following article.

That's great jimbo, I'll take all the profits then. While you are doing that, you might set the thing up, get it running, oh and forward on my wages...

When you consider the success (miraculously) of Mrs Brown's boys, and now love/hate in england, you would think there is a market developing there.
