"heaven forbid Oulart might think a club who have just won an intermediate championship in Carlow last year might not be great" keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 19/11/2013 15:07:14 1515289 Link 0 |
but surely this practice match was wanted earlier in the year?maybe our carlow expert with all the stories might elaborate. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 19/11/2013 15:49:24 1515327 Link 0 |
It was win win for yee regardless Perfect 10 because yee still would have been playing the top teams in the country so why would our inclusion deter your prospects? If anything it would have given Wexford another competitive game! Yeer representive shouldnt have promised us the vote if he wasnt going to go with it, end of story! Perfect - if you know anything about Carlow and hurling in Carlow you would know very well that along the shared border are Carlow men who regularly attend and support hurling in Wexford. That is a fact. Myshall this year had one of your greats coaching them and for years Kildavin, Myshall and half of St Mullins would and continue to support Wexford. In fact many in MLR would also be Wexford supporters. So - I don't know where you are going with this animosity stuff. carlowman (Carlow) - Posts: 1875 - 19/11/2013 19:49:22 1515484 Link 0 |
Regarding the practice match between Oulart and MLR, I know from my time as club sec that you would get a lot of calls like this, and you'd NEVER tell a team they werent good enough for a practice match, even if you believed it was the case. You'd just tell them you've league matches, other practice matches, etc. Urban myth if ever there was one. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 20/11/2013 10:45:25 1515619 Link 0 |
perfect10 or Pinkie how do ye rate Buffers Alley's chances against the Rower of Kilkenny? PortInFaithful (Offaly) - Posts: 472 - 20/11/2013 16:34:58 1515795 Link 0 |
I dont know to be honest PortInFaithful, I dont know enough about The Rower but Buffers Alley are a grade below where they should be hurling, so I think they would fancy their chances. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 20/11/2013 17:02:11 1515805 Link 0 |

gaelicgab, that was an Oylegate team who were down to 14 after 10 minutes,13 after 20,12 after 30 and I think finished the game with 11.and Buffers Alley are a better team than they were.a lot better. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 20/11/2013 18:38:42 1515848 Link 0 |

bennybunny, Oylgate are a club with a bit of a reputation for this. Wouldnt be the first time or wont be the last time. Probably the team in senior hurling our club hate playing the most for that very reason. Thankfully they were relegated again this year. Rower Inistoige 1-9 Buffers Alley 0-10. Must've been a tight game! keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 24/11/2013 19:24:01 1517208 Link 0 |
Well what does everyone think for Sunday??? Can These Rangers Boys shock Oulart???? Bookies seem to think Not......Whats the verdict????????????????????????? skysports (Carlow) - Posts: 20 - 27/11/2013 13:19:57 1518385 Link 0 |
MLR worth a punt, surely! I see Darren Stamp is back for Oulart & Eoin Moore came on the last day too so they're at full strength now, though... keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 27/11/2013 15:12:18 1518431 Link 0 |
skysports, who says it would be a shock? I can assure you that unlike almost every vibe coming from Carlow, Oulart are not taking this challenge lightly or underestimating them. Why players come out with nonsense such as "I know they could think about Carlow champions and the standard of Carlow hurling" is beyond me. Only Carlow seem to be thinking this way, Oulart surely are not nor is anybody in Wexford. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 27/11/2013 15:17:35 1518435 Link 0 |
Oulart will have 10+ to spare at the weekend. They have beaten two super teams in Kilcormac and Clara and have been around the block long enough now. crossfieldball (Galway) - Posts: 650 - 27/11/2013 15:39:36 1518447 Link 0 |
It wouldn't matter who Oulart were playing. After losing 3 finals in-a-row they will not take ANYONE for granted. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 27/11/2013 18:12:31 1518542 Link 0 |
