Will James Horan give it another go?

You're right

If you do go onto win it... considering you'll be going the tougher route next year (no more playing deflated AI champs on the way to another final in 2014) and it'll be your 3rd final appearance in a row

Also considering the mammoth effort of this bunch of players to overcome set back after set back, and not performing when it really matters and with a manager that IMO just isn't at the same standards tactically as some of the other top mangers

It'll go down as one of the greatest AI victories of all time IMO... a true testament of perseverance and courage

And bloody hats off to you if it happens... what an achievement it would be... but you'll need to be better than in 12 / 13 in order to achieve that.

Jimbo the theory that we only got to the last two finals because we played and beat the reigning all Ireland champions does not wash with me at all.
There are always plenty of excuses offered when we loose and most of them are bull.....the better team won and we failed to turn up yeah, but the better footballing team won this year and last.

Also equally the excuse that we are lucky to meet the reinging all Ireland champs is codwash.

Will we get to the final and win next year? I don't know, I wouldn't bey on it. Then being a Mayo fan you never can be quiet sure going into any game. An emotional roller coaster is sport...you just gotta keep holding on.

No it's not "Cod Wash" at all

Cork, Dublin, Donegal were nowhere near their previous AI Champ level

You played them all at vital times and benifited greatly from it

It without doubt has contributed to Mayos cause under Horan

The Dubs are the best team in Ireland, next to them is tricky, champs Tyrone 08, Donegal 12,Cork 10 and Kerry09 are on downward spiral.

I think Mayo have to win Sam some time and I thing 2014 will be the year.

Your right this is Dublin time and I have no doubt that they will win a few more in the coming years.

Nonsense. Dublin had made an AI semi final, donegal had beaten the team that made the semi final and cork had been playing perfectly well before they met mayo. They couldnt have been that bad could they? These theories are just daft, dublin were the favourites for the final, they had the strongest squad, most people backed them to win, and shock horror that is what happened. I dont see why there is some half-baked theory required to explain that set of events.

Everybody fancied Mayo , the sense of destiny was unreal. Thing is we have played much better , our younger lads didn't have a great day at the office and were substituted but the difference was our senior players stepped up , yours didn't plus coupled with some strange decisions on the line by your manager who bottled it and went for safety in numbers instead of going for the kill at vital moments in the game.
